As with all media reports - trust, but verify: https://nypost.com/2021/06/06/royal-caribbean-wont-require-covid-19-vaccination-to-ride-cruises/ Data is now accumulating over the past few years that will support future cruise protocol decisions, including a reanalysis of what was learned from the very first infection alarm on the Diamond Princess. Here is Canada you have to pay for it and there is no chance of taking a Covid test for travel that is free. At the local airport Covid tests cost $150 Not sure about the status of things in British Columbia but here in Ontario you can get a rapid antigen test done at Shopper’s Drug Mart for $40 and at Walmart for $19.97. Both with results in hand in 15 minutes. Might be worth checking out. Rochelle

neeuqdrazil Posted March 23, 2022 #29 Share Posted March 23, 2022 Cunard (according to their site which updated on Monday) are not requiring vax on QM2 after 17 April, and after 17 May on QE. This is why I'm not sailing on QM2 on 24 April.

There are not many options provided her in BC that are not costly.

It does sound dangerous, especially given that they had a HUGE outbreak on board QM2 on their Christmas cruise (which did require full vax plus masking). And they're not requiring masks except in the theatre, cinema and medical centre. For departures from Soton, they are doing at-terminal testing (presumably rapid antigen), but other departures only require proof of a recent test (within 48 hours).

That will be interesting for people doing cruises from Vancouver assuming a test is still required to get on a ship.
jeh10641 Posted March 23, 2022 #35 Share Posted March 23, 2022 According to British cruise bloggers I watch daily, UK has dumped all COVID protocols and saw an immediate 48% uptick in cases. I have not seen news reports on this but would be wary of Cunard if true. Jim
