Dubai to Singapore or Reverse

Considering two different Seabourn cruises. One is in December and goes from Dubai to Singapore ending just before Christmas. The other is in mid March going from Singapore to Dubai. The itineraries are slightly different but we were wondering if weather is a consideration? Appreciate any other input.

I can't help with the weather, but depending on your itinerary and stops, you may be visiting during the month Muslims observe Ramadan.

Ramadan 2023 is about March 23 to April 21. Each country has different restrictions they place during this season. You may or may not be affected. Here's a short article about Ramadan in Dubai - https://theculturetrip.com/middle-east/united-arab-emirates/articles/everything-you-need-to-know-when-visiting-dubai-during-ramadan/

As Pudgesmom said you should be aware of Ramadam because restrictions for eating and drinking in public is a cultural issue. Not a major problem but good to be aware of.

Dubai in December weather wise is quite pleasant. Singapore can be very rainy and humid in December but it is still warm. However so many places are air-conditioned so not a problem. Singapore also do Christmas decorations well. we have been there a few times in pre-Christmas and enjoyed it. Gardens by the Bay especially the Domes which are air-conditioned are wonderful. The night light show is free.

I think the December cruise from Dubai to Singapore or Hong Kong has the more interesting itinerary, with stops in Cochin and Sumatra more interesting than the usual Phuket and Penang on the March trip.  The March trip includes Colombo which is miles from anything worth seeing.  Ramadan (Oman and UAE) won't be an issue.   We are vaguely considering the Holiday cruise because it's marginally better than anything else on Seabourn, Silversea or Regent at that time of year.

Thanks all for the helpful feedback. Seems like we can't lose either way. We had an Azamara Singapore to Dubai booked for April 2020 then -----happened. I feel like it might be a nice time to jump over and try Seabourn.

We were there about 10 years ago not knowing anything about Ramadam happening  while we were there

It was funny to see all the very large food courts in the shopping malls shut with nobody there
