tallgirl97 Posted April 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2022 I think this was a short-lived thing, but my elderly parents are concerned about it. Can anyone confirm there’s no doctors note needed for guests 70+ to cruise? Thanks in advance.

alexgtp Posted April 15, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2022 Nope. Leave Sunday on Oasis with my 80+ parents. Nothing needed. We also sailed this past NYE with them on Anthem and we did not need anything like that for them. Just make sure you have the COVID-19 Negative paperwork and Vax card. 2
Sunshine3601 Posted April 15, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2022 You may assure your parents No Doctor note is required. Just a negative covid test taken 2 days before your sailing. if you sunday - test no earlier than friday. and make sure to bring original cdc vaccination cards for everyone. tallgirl97 Posted April 16, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted April 16, 2022 Thanks everyone for weighing in. Yes, we've had this cruise booked since 2018 (lifted and shifted a few times), so this was indeed a 'thing' at one point along the way. Glad to know it's no longer needed and appreciate everyone's time!
alex_drew Posted April 16, 2022 #7 Share Posted April 16, 2022 Just back from a 12 day, both of us in our 70's, no Dr. note required...and yes, I remember when that was going to be a requirement just before all of the cruises were cancelled in 2020, because we were scheduled for the beginning of April 2020 and I was panicking about the note before our cruise was cancelled because our Dr. did NOT want us to go on the cruise... 😁
LeeW Posted April 16, 2022 #8 Share Posted April 16, 2022 Actually got a note for April 2020 cruises before they were cancelled. Kept rebooking, thinking surely we would sail in a few months....... Eventually had 19 cruises cancelled. Finally got to restart in August last year.
Billy Baltic Posted April 16, 2022 #9 Share Posted April 16, 2022 Gone but not forgotten 😊. There’s probably more scientific merit to this than some of their current protocols although that’s unlikely to be agreed by all here. 1
deliver42 Posted April 16, 2022 #10 Share Posted April 16, 2022 We've been on two RCCL cruises since the return and didn't need anything from anybody concerning our health. I'm 79 and my wife is 70. We're also booked on MSC, Celebrity, and NCL with no problems.

Oh, sorry, it was at the beginning of Covid in 2020 that he was adamant that we shouldn't go on the April 2020 cruise. Now our Dr. is fine with us cruising. Surfguyxxx Posted April 17, 2022 #14 Share Posted April 17, 2022 I took my mom for her 80th birthday and was sailed right through the check-in with no questions asked about it. Enjoy! 😎
