Now here's another thing. The muppets in Miami have issued a list of requirements for the Covid Test Report. They have suggested a couple of testing organisations, none of which are in the UK. Some brave soul asked if Royal could recommend someone in the UK to perform tests to Royal's specification or if a test from Lloyds Pharmacy would be OK and was told they, Royal, would not recommend anyone in the UK but if it met the specifications then Lloyds would be OK.

 

Many people, me included, have booked a test with Lloyds. I sent the report specifications to Lloyds and they have just said they could NOT meet them but pointed me in the direction of an outfit called MASTA. Lloyds has over 1,500 branches but there are only 40 branches of MASTA in the UK - some of which (22) are in Lloyds.

 

I'm going to take a deep breath and be brave and do nothing different to what I have planned. I would put good money in assuming that the individual at Southampton will check the name of the testing company for 'respectability' (Cublet's Covid Testing Company would probably fail, Lloyds Pharmacy would pass) , the date of the test and look for the word 'Negative' against the test result and job done. A poster somewhere on these boards has reported that people were stopped as their report did not have the passenger's 'Date Of Birth' even though that is not a Royal requirement - they hand wrote the DOB and after a discussion with a supervisor were allowed to pass.

 

Something exactly like this happened to me with MSC and insurance - but this post is long enough already.

I used Lloyds in Sainsburys for LFT test to get me into USA in January

I used Lloyds in Sainsburys to get me onto voyager in Barcelona in April

I’ve booked Lloyds in Sainsburys to book the test before flying to Barcelona again to join Wonder next month

 

I’m pretty comfortable using them!

I can confirm what others have said about the first two Voyager cruises. Unbelievable how many items they ran out of.  By the second day of the second cruise, they had to reprint the wine menu in the Main Dining Room as they had run out of most wines sold by the glass. Why didn't they open up some of the wines sold by the bottle to sell by the glass. We also got 50% back on internet the first week but it was a fight to get it. Our cabin steward was great though and our room was ready for us with the amenities. But yes, those cookies were awful. The cruise felt like a shakedown cruise, not an inaugural one.  Day 6 of second cruise, all crew are double masked. When asked they all said they had no idea why, just orders from above. After we were off we heard that 30 crew had tested positive for Covid. Gee, think you might want to notify the passengers?  The junior crew were all eager to please. The junior officers (Internet officer, some guest services, shore excursion officers, sports staff, entertainment staff) could use some extra customer service training and attitude adjustment.
