Costa Maya, what to do?

I see that Maya, Lost Mayan Kingdom water park is closed and hope it’s opened back up come November but if not, what are some recommendations on what to do while there?

The water park is neat but its not an all day thing, at least it wasn't when I went. There were like 10 family's there and I was the *only* one on the RCCL Bus over there (I actually just walked back to the port on my own haha)

The actual CM port area is really pretty I think, I did the Bird Aviary thing there and was surprised how nice it was, was actually tempted to do it again my last cruise. 

 

You can also do bus tours to a few different Mayan Ruins from CM as well, I've visited 3 different sites all from that port.

We've enjoyed trips to the ruins and also just catching a shuttle/cab to the malecon area and spending the day there.  We walked it once; not again!  Also tried walking back to the ship along the shore.  That's one of our best travel stories!  (Don't do it).  Unless very adventerous.
