I didn't know that the movies were free. There's no mention of that or the free room service in the welcome letter. Going to watch 355 tomorrow

I got our email this morning for our cruise next week and it does not list free ppv and I don't ever remember seeing it listed in the past when we have sailed sky class.  I will let you know what I find next week. 🙂

So if we do eat in CK, and want to order from the main dining menu, can you do that while staying inside of CK? I think we might like the smaller atmosphere in CK as opposed to Main Dining.

Honestly, that would be a lot of unnecessary work for the staff. Why not just eat in main dining room (or get in suite dining delivered from the MDR)? We sometimes do that instead of going to the CK. It’s one thing if it’s just a lobster tail you want instead of the lobster dish they have in the CK on the second formal night, people will definitely do that; but someone has to run your meals up there, that doesn’t make sense to do it otherwise when you could just go downstairs (when they are usually running themselves to death already). Enjoy your cruise. 😊

Not sure I’ve ever gone a day on an Oasis class ship without having a kummelweck (roast beef), panini, or both from Central Park.

We will be at home of beef on wick in Buffalo at end of this month, there wings are pretty good also 😁

Based on the feedback here on their process, I agree with you that it would be unnecessary, which is one of the reasons that I asked the question. My experience in the Haven led me to ask as we have been able to make such request there successfully. Although, This could be, as others have mentioned, that the menu on NCL doesn’t change nightly. As I mention, this is our first suite on RCCL. Also, we prefer a more quiet and less congested dining experience. But we have our dining scheduled and based on the wonderful answers here, will dine in the dining room or our room. No harm, no foul. Thanks, we do hope to enjoy the trip!

We have been in the Haven on the Epic and in a one bed suite on Anthem. (Not rich but excellent deals both times!) My observation is there is no comparison between the two, The Haven restaurant for all meals was far better than CK, plus you have the entire private area, pool, bar etc.

I was very underwhelmed with CK.

Just my 2 pence.

Enjoy your cruise and the make excellent use of freebies 🙂

The Haven is amazing, we enjoy it also,  but I think you will enjoy the suite experience on RCCL. The Haven restaurant is quite similar to the Haven restaurant in our experience. Since you weren’t familiar with the situation, I was trying to explain it all though it is technically possible to have it happen that it’s not something you likely would feel good about asking them to do frequently. If that detail had been pointed out already then I had somehow missed it. Note that on the CK menu there is a “classics” section  that usually has shrimp cocktail, steak (ribeye?), French onion soup, Caesar salad, etc.

The steak is a NY strip according to the app. It's the same classics menu as the MDR.

Thank you. As by my “?” I did not recall, I’m not really a steak lover and DH was nowhere near by to ask since he does order it fairly often 😂  The point was  to let the OP know is the standard fare is indeed available in the CK via that kitchen 👍🏼

I do understand. We have no intentions of asking for special items outside of the venue especially since we see that their process is not set up to accommodate. We definitely have not found an issue finding something to suit our taste in the multitude of dining venues on board. There are and will be differences in the two cruise line suite experiences and accept and respect them for their differences. That's one of the exciting parts and trying something different for us. We have most exclusively done the Haven and were a bit ready for something different but have no doubts the the experience will be excellent! Thank you for your feedback and enjoy your day.

Never asked for dishes that were being served from the MDR but they have always been great about accommodating dishes that are on the menu to personal taste.  The food is definitely made more made to order and they can make up a meal with what the have in the kitchen during each seating.   Between the classic section of the menu and the kids' menu, there are lots of plainer food options.
