Blue Chip Club Email Errors

I've never booked through BCC, but lately I've been getting emails and checking out what deals they have.  A couple of weeks ago there was a code that was invalid and yesterday I received an email offering me to book cruises for 2021!  Doesn't instill confidence to book using them.  Does this happen often?

X Marketing is descent at creating a buzz, however proofreading isn't their specialty

The "promo code" reportedly was their first time they tried this since you generally either need book a comped cruise on the phone, email them or utilize their online form (but you have to pick 3 sailings).  Not only did the Alaska promo code not work originally but marketing made it sound like it was a fully comped sailing.

It gets even funnier. I got the email addressed to another individual  sent to my email who is in the starting tier of BCC for a comp cruise excluding taxes and port charges. So I called BCC to have them send it to whoever it was supposed to go to. Then I asked, if I qualified for the offer. Until December,  I am in the highest tier.  Nope, it was a targeted offer.  🤣

BCC seems to have hired a bunch of new staff who don't know what they're doing.  All my BCC offers do not include perks, so on the same call to BCC I generally book a sailing and the internet (since if you do it online you do not receive the CC discount).  I told the person I wanted to book a sailing then add the internet.  Be prepared for a rant...They put me on hold for 25mins to book.  I then ask about the internet, he first told me BCC never books perks and I should call the reg X number, I explained they have in the past and I did request the purchasing the internet in the beginning of the call.  Person then tells me its included due to my BCC status, I explain my status only gives me limited minutes, I asked if they can ask their supervisor about the minutes, am put on hold and in 5mins, I'm disconnected.  Called CC and got it done without a long wait.  Just a much different experience from the past when after booking a sailing the BCC reps asks if I want to add any perks including the alcohol package at a 15% off discount

What in the world? I received an email from the BCC with an offer of BOGO 60% 2nd + 20% off cruise fare based on my BCC status (which they show as Pearl). But here's the thing .. although I've been on many Celebrity cruises, I've never spent time in the casino except to cash out Elite match play coupons.

The BOGO 60% offer sounded great until I realized that it their public offering right now. The 20% off does seem to be extra, but not significant at current pricing.

The email says must book by 6/14/22, but the fine print says the cruise can be through 4/30/24. Although if I click on the link to see the form, it is limited to a few Alaska and Caribbean cruises in the next 2-3 weeks.

Are there any benefits to having a BCC booking other than the 20% off these specific cruises? And how does one get to be at the Pearl level [Never mind that question .. I see that Pearl basically means you walked through the casino once.]?

As soon as you put $1 in a slot machine you're Pearl. Pearl only requires 1 loyalty point, it's their entry level tier with Blue Chip Club. The next one - Onyx - is 2500 points.

Considering Casino Fares don't have Always Included you should be careful. Having to pay beverage packages, tips and wifi extra can be an expensive adventure.

Did you have to sign up to get these emails? Hubs is amethyst and we've never had ANY communication from BCC. I really just thought they waited on you to call them if you wanted to book a cruise and they'd say yes or no. Full disclosure...we have a comp cruise already booked for October...would that matter as far as emails go?

When the comp is for free cruise and just pay taxes and fees it is questionable if it is worth. If you want to purchase a combo package(elevate) you may have to go up to a different level for a considerably greater cost - another $1900. Also if you only want any beverage or WIFI package individually it does add up. One may save a little but not a hugh bargain.  Also I have FCC's but cannot use them on a Blue Chip offer I was told.

I looked at a 10 day Southern Caribbean cruise only offer yesterday and what really got me interested is that Flights by Celebrity showed a round trip flight from Providence to FLL for under $100!  I stepped back and let it pass.  Sailing next week so I figure I need to see how that goes.
