BoredWok Posted May 27, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2022 We are planning a Mediterranean Cruise and will be in Turkey for a day. Some web sites say we need an eVisa from Turkey. Other sites say that cruisers staying less than 72 hours don't require a visa. The cruise line representatives say yes, or no, just depending upon who you get on the phone. The official Turkish web site seems to say we don't need a full e-visa but we do need something. Has anyone gone through this before and what is the proper procedure? Thank you. Rare LHT28 Posted May 27, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2022 I believe you need a VISA no matter how you enter Turkey https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/turkey https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/
fitz55 Posted May 27, 2022 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2022 I don’t think that you need a visa based on this site. I have been there in the past on a cruise and did not need a visa. https://www.visasturkey.com/evisa-for-turkey-on-a-cruise/
Rare LHT28 Posted May 27, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2022 I guess if you want to take a chance then get one upon arrival or be denied entry if you do not have a VISA if required It is very confusing for sure

Last time in Turkey, we flew into Istanbul and immediately embarked on the Riviera where we had to present visas - the ship overnighted in Istanbul. Visa was easy to obtain online.
