You can also follow the link at the top of this forum to the Roll Calls for each ship.  One may have already been started for your cruise.  Or you can start one.  Good way to share information about specific cruises.

The Grandeur will be a beautiful ship based on our experiences on her sister ships, Explorer and Splendor.

Many personal things go into cruise decisions but I'll tell you some of our story. We switched from large Celebrity cruises 10 years ago to Regent and never looked back. By the time we are on the Grandeur maiden voyage, we should have done 24 Regent cruises. We did the Splendor's (our favorite ship) maiden voyage and were wowed by the experience. If you decide to do the Grandeur Transatlantic in late 2023, I'd advise to let Regent handle all the Air and hotel arrangements - the embarkation date for a new ship isn't set in concrete. I think you also have to be flexible in expectations. I do expect Regent to use the "best of the best" staffing but how a new ship handles the seas has to be determined "at sea" - possibly creaks and gremlins - had them on the Splendor maiden voyage but the cruise was still spectacular!

Yes, lots of very informative threads on this site.

We did one Transatlantic, a first "crossing", not a great experience.

There was a problem with one of the propulsion units ( from what we were told) and they had to cancel one port that we really wanted....

New ships may have problems, so we are waiting a bit for the "First on Grandeur"

Looking forward to a smaller ship in December..............

Gremlins are alive and well on newer ships and can take a while to get rid of them. We did the Explorer’s first transatlantic cruise and most of the cabins seemed to experience a whistle effect from the winds hitting the veranda doors. It kept us up at night until the cabin steward taped the glass door shut. Regardless, we had a blast and met many new friends that we still stay in touch with.  Even a bad Regent cruise day is better than a day at home.

We booked a cruise a few weeks ago on Enchanted Princess for January 2023 for our favorites, the ABC islands...too many times at "the other islands", we stay on the ship....

Then yesterday a Brochure from REGENT arrived....needless to say we decided that our second cruise for 2023 would be on Grandeur.

Time for a smaller ship?

Ah, the Explorer door whistle.

It was still-lurking when we did the reverse of your 2017 itinerary.  Ours was back to Europe from Miami via Barcelona to Venice. Noticed maintenance staff coming and going into Suites responding to whistle reports.

Same situation in one of our veranda doors.  Lots of duct tape, or similar compensating material, and no more whistle.  Otherwise, no glitches or shortfalls as to top service.

GOARMY!

We've avoided the maiden voyages on Explorer and Splendor for both scheduling reasons and, well, we don't want to be the guinea pigs.  😄

All kidding aside, we'd do a maiden voyage if the timing was right, but we've been happy with just sailing the inaugural seasons on both of the new ships.

Be forewarned, though - Regent cruises are addictive...
