Lovely Invitation

We’ve recently booked a cruise on Queen Victoria in Princess Grill.

Always been curious about the Grills so thought we’d take the plunge.

As regular Celebrity guests we’re used to everything being online or more commonly the iPhone.

To our surprise and delight we’ve just received a lovely envelope in the post with confirmation of our Cunard voyage on beautifully embossed paper. It’s like a wedding invitation!

Does every Cunard guest receive this?

This small gesture, albeit of a bye-gone era, has us both very excited.

Well done Cunard!

We got one yesterday and also thought it was like receiving a wedding invitation.  We’re staying in a balcony stateroom so I suspect everyone might get one.  This will be our first Cruise and we paid Cunard fare.

They do always use nice stationery. What you get depends on which boxes you tick on the website. There are some who think communications other than by email are primitive and evidence Cunard is stuck in the past. Like you, I think it is nice.

Have received the same for a QE cruise in October, nice thought, but not very green

Does no harm to the rain forest and helps the economy of Estonia or wherever they get their paper pulp from.

You can opt not to receive communication by post if you want to go green.

As someone who relies on Royal Mail for part of their income long may Cunard continue using the postal service. No its not as green as email but it's much more in keeping with Cunards traditional values. If you don't use it you lose it. Thank you Cunard for having and retaining the use of the services of Royal Mail.

  • 3 weeks later...

We just received our invitation for the Queen Anne cruise I booked on May 24th. It arrived in today's mail via "Jersey Post Priority". So I can confirm they are being sent to the US.

I had a bit of a chuckle when I saw the last line of our address was printed as "United States of America (The)". I see now that's one of the ISO standard ways to refer to the US. Just can't say I'd seen it written that way before.

Anyway, nice touch, Cunard!
