1965 Posted June 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2022 Our recent cruise mentally exhausted me. Not the cruise itself, but all the hoops I had to jump us thru with testing, forms, and more testing & more forms required for flying home to US from Canada. We have 4 FCDs I know with complete certainty we will not use. Can I get the $400 refunded? Can I call my CVP to make it happen? Thanks for any info.
mtnesterz Posted June 2, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2022 (edited) Cannot say from personal experience, but the way it is supposed to go is after two years unused, the money gets refunded to you automatically. We never waited that long, but we share your frustration with the current state of cruising. Would another line be any better at this point? Likely all lines have the same hurdles/challenges. Don't know a quicker way to refund. Added: if you get an answer from your CVP, please post. Edited June 2, 2022 by mtnesterz
GloriaF Posted June 2, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 2, 2022 Hopeful thinking - our situation could change anytime with regards to covid. I've heard the same about refunds when FCDs expire. Good luck to you getting it earlier

We had one that was due to expire and wanted to keep it. Emailed him and he fixed it.

Speaking from 1st hand experience. Thank you. Exactly what I hoped to hear.
Rare cruzin4us Posted June 3, 2022 #6 Share Posted June 3, 2022 Try using the chat feature first before you call......I'm going on 2+ hours on hold and I'm just trying to book 2 cruises. It's no wonder Princess stock is so low!
Rare JimmyVWine Posted June 3, 2022 #7 Share Posted June 3, 2022 I bought 2 in December, 2019 just before the world came crashing to a halt. I could not (would not) book a cruise within my 2 year window. I got an automatic refund almost immediately after the 2 year window without lifting a finger. Ironically, I booked a cruise a couple weeks later. I asked my Princess cruise professional if she could reinstate my FCR and she could not. But she boosted my reservation with an extra Specialty Dinner which was nice.
Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted June 3, 2022 #8 Share Posted June 3, 2022 You can definitely get your money returned. Took us about 5 months form the first call to Princess to the credit appearing on our card. And lots of phone calls and emails to customerrelations@princesscruises.com. All anyone on chat or at the Princess call center can do is send an email to the Finance Department.

Consider finding out who yours is. 800 901-1172. Some are good, some not so, but better than waiting on hold 2 hours.

Fortunately or Unfortunately depending on how you look at it.......I'm trying to book a comped casino cruise so I have to call the "Casino Dept".....unfortunately, there are no CVP's, but fortunately it's a free cruise so I'll just have to wait my turn 🙂
Steelers36 Posted June 3, 2022 #11 Share Posted June 3, 2022 I have cancelled FCD's and been refunded very promptly - but the last time was pre-Covid. Situation was buying new ones on a cruise so that I had new fresh dates and then cancelled some older ones. We each had 4 FCD's going into Covid pause. When we sail again in October, I have some weeks to figure out what to do, but I am thinking we won't be buying so many to have around. They have been consumed, so we have none left. But I am not anxious to be booking more at this time.
Rare cr8tiv1 Posted June 3, 2022 #12 Share Posted June 3, 2022 I just used "live chat" to extend an FCD that is expiring by the end of the year (maybe I should have waited). Good for another 2 years. I am not Princess' biggest cheerleader at the moment, but I am not willing to give up a sure thing (FCD) yet. It's not costing me anything to have it sit. But worth a lot more than interest for it to sit in the bank.
