Halifax with a 3 year old

Hello everyone! We are going to be cruising in July with our 3 year old daughter. Its a short 4 day cruise (first one with our daughter so starting short to see if she likes them as mush as we do!) with only one stop in Halifax so we definitely want to get off the boat there. Is Halifax a good port to just get off and walk around to do things? We aren't planning on bringing a car seat so it would be nice if there are things close by that we could walk off the boat to see. Any tips on Halifax near the port itself? Also if anyone has any tips on cruising with a 3 year old we would love to hear them as well!

I actually don't know where the cruise terminal is in Halifax, but the Discovery Center is a great place for kids.  Google says it is very near the terminal .

Note the times and days it is open though.  May not be open on the day you are in port.

Close enough that your avatar pretty much represents the situation.  You can stand ouside the Discovery Centre and see the cruise ship in the background.
