Yes, they will be ready when you board as per Carnival (see the below emails, one is for Diamond/Platinum, the other is for Suites)

Diamond and Platinum email (June 17th, 2022)

Dear Valued Platinum and Diamond Suite Guests,

This communication is being sent to our booked Platinum and Diamond Suite guests.  It is independent from any request our guests might have pending for an exemption to vaccine requirements, and the receipt of this communication is not any indication of the status of your request.

We want to thank you for the loyalty and support you have shown Carnival, and also make you aware of the new way to redeem your VIFP amenities. These changes were designed in accordance with our new Have Fun. Be Safe. protocols to minimize the number of stateroom deliveries, while making it easier for you to collect some of your benefits.

Moving forward, certain VIFP amenities will be linked to your Sail & Sign folio for electronic redemption, like how we currently handle complimentary laundry.  Simply claim your benefit, using your Sail & Sign card, and a one-time credit for that item will be posted on your folio and be visible on your statement.

Complimentary Beverages
  • Brunch Beverage – redeemable in the dining room.
  • 1.5L Bottled Water – redeemable from any bar, restaurant or your stateroom.
Chocolate Delight (5 + Day Cruises)

A tasty treat will be ready for you to enjoy; just call room service to schedule delivery.

Carnival Logo Gift & Ship Pin

Please visit our Photo Gallery to claim your Carnival logo gift and your Carnival ship pin.  We encourage you to claim your gifts no later than two days prior to the end of your cruise.

We also want you to know that given our focus on meeting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) requirements and implementation of new health and safety protocols, we will need to adjust how we deliver some of the VIFP priority benefits, as follows:
  • ONLINE CHECK-IN – All guests will be required to complete Online Check-In, which will open 14 days prior to sailing.  Platinum and Diamond Suite guests will be given 48 hours advance access to select their preferred Arrival Appointment. Please visit My Cruise Manager on Carnival.com starting at 16 days prior to sailing to complete your Online Check-In and select the Arrival Appointment that works best for your plans.
Due to additional embarkation day processes, all guests will have to arrive promptly at their Arrival Appointment.
  • STATEROOM ACCESS – Staterooms will be ready when you board.
  • WATER SHUTTLE PRIORITY – Priority water shuttle debark will be provided subject to local guidance at the destinations we visit, which may change without prior notice.  Our team on board will keep you informed of the debarkation plans for each port.
  • CASINO – Although we are currently unable to host casino tournaments on board, you will be given US$25 in Casino FunPlay®, in addition to any other FunPlay® you might be entitled to as part of your booking.
  • DEBARK – You will have the benefit of priority debark.
We thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through our restart plans.  Your continued support means a lot to us and our great staff and crew can’t wait to welcome you back on board!

Sincerely,

Ready for what? To be honest I would not have known that people went to staterooms to drop off bags if I had not read it here on CC. I am a couple cruises short of Platinum so I have never given it much thought.

But if I received this email I would assume I could go to my room and unpack, take a shower, whatever as soon as I board even if that is at 11am. I find the statement "Staterooms will be ready when you board" to be misleading.

Also, for what its worth and I know not everyone agrees, I would not want to enter the cabin or closed hallway if the rooms were still being prepared. I don't like to get in peoples way when they are working. I wouldn't want it done to me.

But as I've said I'm not Plat yet so this confusing perk doesn't apply to me.

Both of those emails are addressed to suite guests.  The first one is for Diamond/Platinum Suite Guests, and the second is for Suite Guests.  Diamond/Platinum passengers not in suites are only supposed to drop off carry-ones, not actually occupy the cabin until 1:30-ish when cabins are ready.

The recent comments here on CC and even in this thread have me confused. A lot of ppl have mentioned going to their stateroom to but a bag in the closet even though the room was still being prepared. They say that is a perk for being platinum. Every time I have been on Carnival I seem to remember not having access to staterooms till 1:30 per the sign on the closed hallway door.

Is a crew member standing on the other side of that closed door checking to see if your Platinum before you enter your unprepared room to put your carryon in a place you feel is out of the way?

No.
What it mostly comes down to is they will not stop you.  So people think it is ok to do.

That's the way I read it as well.

Our most recent experience, platinum, last week on Radiance, went to our cabin to drop bags at about 1:00, room was not ready but they allowed us to put bags in closet.

We have been on 8 cruises since cruising resumed under the new practices, and it has been hit or miss (I think just depending on staffing and ship capacity).  Our room was ready 2 or 3 times, but that was it.  It was a nice surprise, but we don't expect under the current staffing shortage, etc.

Good point on that, my brother is diamond but in a suite this time so maybe it is different for regular rooms then. Anyone have the email for an upcoming diamond/plat in non-suite?

I did not catch the part about it being just for suite guest. I just read the bolded print. My bad!

Lol my bad as well I didn't see this was addressed to suite guests. I knew they had cabin access and were on board first.

I am still unsure of Platinum dropping bags. As I have said the hallways are closed and I don't see this s listed as a VIFP perk for Platinum on Carnival's web site.

Does anyone know if platinum guests still get early access to their cabin upon embarkation ?  I like to put away my carry on, and fill the safe with important stuff, then leave to go topside.

To begin with. The fire doors are never locked. Just very hard to open. We always go to the cabin and put our suit cases in it and my wife puts her purse in the safe. We have never been to we could not go in the cabin for that. We are Diamond so since then then, most of the time our room is ready. We usually arrive after noon.

I actually had something printed (either an email or from the website/app) that said Platinum cabins likely would not be ready early but we could still drop our bags.  I used it take it with me in case we needed to show it, but after several cruises and nobody wanted to see it, I quit taking it. I will see if I can find it.

Yes, I'm a total nerd rule-follower and would not try to enter/drop off bags if I hadn't been told it was okay to do so. 🙂

Sorry I was not able to find my actual email, but I found the email was discussed here:

https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2794682-vifp-platinum-and-diamond-guest-update-letter/page/2/

"STATEROOM ACCESS – Due to enhanced cleaning and sanitation, staterooms may not be ready at the time of boarding for the early Arrival Appointments.   If you have not checked your bags, feel free to quickly drop off your luggage while our crew puts the finishing touches on your stateroom.  This will allow you to complete your e-mustering process and start your vacation promptly."

Excellent. That should answer all the questions.

This is a plea to everyone on this Carnival forum.

Due to Covid and the ongoing effects across our County and Abroad, can we please forget about Carnival Cruise Status for a while and allow the Carnival staff to fully sanitize all the cabins before we enter them? It's for the safety of all passengers and crew.

If we can just be patient we will all get to our chosen home away from home in time to enjoy the great sail away sailabrations!
