I highly recommend buying advance tickets to enter La Sagrada Familia now, as it sells out quickly. All tickets are sold through the church but Barcelona Day Tours has a great Barcelona highlights tour where they will purchase the tickets for you. Tour busses are now restricted from approaching the basilica, so unless a tour includes it on the itinerary, you aren’t going to see it.

Wholeheartedly agree and will add to book the earliest ticket you're willing to get up for.  Unless it's changed since the before times, the later you enter the more crowded it becomes.  We had 8:30 or 9:00 tickets and it was crowded but not terribly so. By an hour later it was crazy.

Darn...I saw the RA11 deal email and was hoping they would throw free SSP in as well...since that is the deal we snagged last year.  Was the deal last year ( reduced fares, free air, free SSP ) a one-off to attract folks back after the pandemic?

2022's promos in general were more generous than 2023's.  After Q1 of 2023 the promos were usually $25 deposit + special fares, sometimes with free air included for sailing departing in 3 to 4 months.  Bookings appear to be up ($25 deposits anyone?) and Viking just doesn't feel the need to provide as many carrots as they did last year to drive bookings.

Unfortunately, I would not hold my breath on deals for that cruise ... for many years, HAL has had a somewhat similar (though not nearly as port attractive) trip called the Voyage of the Vikings. The HAL trip is legendary for always selling out and never being discounted.

 

We had to cancel Viking for 2023 but rebooked for 2025 - just too good and itinerary to pass up! 🍺🥌

We are on one of the earlier trans Atlantic cruises and it is almost sold out. The two late summer cruises have only a couple of openings….not sure why it is so popular, except people must love sea days or a way to return to the States avoiding air travel.

I believe the route that Dee is referring to is the Greenland, Iceland, Norway & Beyond trip. 29 days, only 7 sea days with no two seas days together. Still 25% at sea, but not the same stretches as a 'real' TA. Apologies if you were referring to the same cruise! 🍺🥌

Same cruise….should probably not have referred to it as “trans Atlantic “. I have never seen a seriously reduced price promo for this cruise or “In the Wake of Vikings.”

Which transatlantic are you on?  We just booked the "West Indies & The Iberian Peninsula" itinerary - March 27 - April 8th, 2024.

 

The deals *finally* came through for us...via the "Thanksgiving" sale ( TGS23 ).  Free air, SSP, and special rates, plus they threw in a past customer discount.  ANd they had some "cheap" room category rooms left.  Killer deal for a 13 day, that's for sure.

Yeah the deals on the South Atlantic crossing for this year have me thinking we may forgo our $25 deposits on our March 2025 and hope they offer a similar deal.  🤔
