Royal Caribbean's pricing is messed up...

Recommended Posts

Case in point:

Sail from Haifa, Israel on Oct 19th for 5 nights (https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/itinerary/5-night-greek-isles-from-haifa-on-rhapsody/RH05HFA-433285868?sail-date=2023-11-01&currency=USD&country=USA).

In theory, "kids sail free". I even see the discounts in the final bill.

In practice:

Ocean view room for a couple is: 1021.94$

Ocean view room for a couple + 1 kid: 1,949.91$

Ocean view room for a couple + 2 kids: 2,041.88$

How can one kid spike the price to almost double?

Looks like one of the kids is over 12 so they are charged as an adult.

Also the cabin that holds 2 is a different category than the cabin that holds 3 or 4 and the prices for the first 2 guests is a lot lower on the double occupancy cabin.

This is normal as there are less cabins on board that hold 3 or 4 guests so they charge guests 1 and 2 a premium in many cases

Nov. of 2023 is outside of the current KSF promo window and many Rhapsody Haifa based cruises are excluded from the current July KSF promo Aug. 2022 through Oct. 2022.  Like all Royal promos they don't apply to every ship or every sail date.

Kids Sail Free
Booking Window: July 1 – 31, 2022
Sailing Window: All sailings departing between August 2, 2022 – May 25, 2023

Not sure what is up with the date that you see in the link but when you click on it you go to the Oct 19, 2022 sailing not a 2023 sailing.

OP stated Oct. 19.  RH Haifa is blacked out from KSF through Oct. 28, 2022 and the promo is only for cruises through May of 2023 so either way KSF doesn't apply for OP in October.

I priced 3 adults in a balcony compared to two adults plus a 6 yo in a balcony.  It was the same price because KSF doesn't apply to RH from Haifa.

It may not state that in the KSF terms but when I go to book it KSF absolutely applies for the Oct 19 sailing

Kids are aged 7,8 and 8... all under 12.

The issue with the pricing in your initial post is that as your number of passengers increase the stateroom type changes and gets subsequently more expensive. In your 3 examples, it isn’t an “apples to apples” comparison.

There are two KSF offers right now.  The 4th of July offer doesn't blackout Haifa.  That ends on July 4.  The other July KSF that runs the whole month does blackout Haifa.  Check LTYA.

This morning the public website was not allowing KSF.   When I ran it with 2 adults a 6 yo or as 3 adults in cabin 7150 the rate was the same.

Now the same cabin does qualify for KSF but there has been a price increase since this morning.

Three adults:

Two adults plus a 6 yo:

So the good news is that KSF is now working for Oct. 19 from Haifa (if booked by July 4).  The bad news is the rates went up over the past few hours.
