Rather spend a little more with a Legacy carrier Luckily we didn't have any trouble on several trips we took. They were great for Transatlantic cruises, because one-way fares were half of round trip. You cannot take one-way on most big carriers for half the price.

jerseygirl3 Posted July 5, 2022 #30 Share Posted July 5, 2022 (edited) We got a one way from Philly to Bologna (with a changeover in Heathrow) Premium Economy for $735/pp. Booked direct with American Airlines. I think we did pretty well. Last 2 times we booked with cruiseline, they dropped the ball. The first time they cancelled our reservation completely (they wouldn't take any responsibility and had no idea who or why we were cancelled, as the flight was still a go). The second time we found out days before we were due to fly to Rome that they bumped my husband off the flight. Both times they were First Class/Business class tickets. And neither time did they notify us. We happened to check our reservations and found out. Edited July 5, 2022 by jerseygirl3

Wonder if that would still apply if a cruise starts in Europe but ends in the US.

Wondering what the situation will be with fall TAs that originate outside of the exceptions, but end in (or visit) a U.S. or Canadian port? My guess is they will not be exempt.
