Pacific Encounter Movements

Recommended Posts

Maybe Pacific Adventure had a haircut because she will be home ported in Sydney, therefore coming and going more often while Pacific Encounter will be based in Brisbane.  She will only visit Sydney for a day or so and can dock at Circular Quay if available.

Yes, that made sense, as it isn't like they need to get under a bridge into Brisbane or North Qld. I think someone from P&O got things a bit tangled in suggesting funnels had been shortened on both ships..

PACIFIC ENCOUNTER is scheduled to arrive at the Overseas Passenger Terminal Sydney on Monday 1st August 2022 at 12noon  and depart on Sunday 7th August 2022 4pm

CRUISING ALONG

Awesome, she might need to get a bit of a wriggle on, and the timing all but confirms that she has no other stops along the way. Also for Sydney

10th - 13th August

15th - 18th August

which fits with shakedown cruise(s) and her scheduled arrival into Brisbane at 5am on 20th August. Bit of a pity that Brisbane misses all the pre-cruise activity for Encounter.

AIS destination has updated to Sydney. Encounter must be departing soon!

She is still tied-up at Sembawang shipyard in Singapore. Who knows, maybe still will depart today.

Had Encounter not been delayed in Singapore, I think they might have had an early morning rendezvous planned with Explorer somewhere near Cairns. To be passing now while Explorer is anchored at Yorkey's, I don't think they will be close enough to make anything of it.

Both ships will get close and personal when Explorer arrives into Sydney next Thursday morning.

For anyone near the harbour early tonight, it looks as if P&O may be planning a passing of the ships at Fort Denison.

Pacific Explorer is currently in Circular Quay, and due to depart for Auckland at 7:15pm

Pacific Encounter is currently at anchor at Athol Buoy, and according to Sydney Ports will move to OPT to take her place. A bit of a strange one, as Coral Princess will be in to OPT at first light tomorrow morning.
