Brentt_M Posted July 16, 2022 Author #26 Share Posted July 16, 2022 Time to relax in the room for a bit before 6pm dinner at the Pinnacle Grill. Will post some food pics and maybe some commentary on the meal later. 4
goldsmip115 Posted July 16, 2022 #27 Share Posted July 16, 2022 Having been in the Pinnacle Suite several times there is NO privacy with respect to the hot tub on the balcony. If others are at the railing above you and in forward cabins they can see you in the hot tub.

Forward cabins can absolutely not see you (at least in ours) some of the ones toward the aft and slightly above can, but once in the tub it is recessed in the wall some. Can only speak to this specific one on the eurodam.

Brentt_M Posted July 17, 2022 Author #30 Share Posted July 17, 2022 Dinner at the Pinnacle grill was pretty good overall. Service was very solid. All of the food except my ribeye was excellent, but the ribeye was pretty average. Clothesline bacon was an absolute hit. Also gave my mom a nice chocolate birthday cake at the end. Ceaser Salad Mushroom Caps Clothesline Bacon iceberg wedge Maine lobster tail ($20) Petite Filet Boneless Ribeye Halibut jidori Chicken (not sure why its upside down) Chocolate Souffle Mango Sorbet Key lime pie creme brulee chocolate birthday cake 5

oakridger Posted July 17, 2022 #34 Share Posted July 17, 2022 I could see the video on my desktop PC. I think I would be comfortable, at night, with the balcony lights off, at sea, using the hot tub! Just wear the robe out and quickly take it off while getting into the water. Thinking about it makes me almost wish I still had mine at home. Thanks again for checking this. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was curious! 😉 The ribyeye sure looked good.....it's a shame it wasn't up to snuff. ~Nancy

Brentt_M Posted July 17, 2022 Author #37 Share Posted July 17, 2022 Calling it an early night... still have not quite adjusted to the time change. Billboard onboard was decent this evening even if it wasn't my favorite sets. I think I will enjoy Brady and Grace this trip which is great cause billboard is my go to evening spot and I did not like the performers on my last cruise over new years. Casino was ok to me as well as I finished the night up $500 on the craps table. Also, from what I saw tonight there seems to be a lot more 30-50 year olds on the ship than on past sailings. Sea day tomorrow so will definitely be taking advantage of my thermal pass and we also have afternoon tea scheduled to be set up in the suite at 3pm. GF has some seaweed wrap and massage treatment scheduled for 5pm tomorrow and I am curious to hear about that. It is also a "dressy" night so that always makes for some interesting people watching in the evening. The only odd thing so far was that my GF (who was added to the booking later) did not have the beverage package tied to her account. The neptune lounge let me move the SBP from one of the kids and apply it to her and then I just purchased thr kiddo the quench package for $150. I will figure out the mix up with my TA after the cruise. 4
Brentt_M Posted July 17, 2022 Author #38 Share Posted July 17, 2022 Good morning from the Eurodam. Bit chilly out this morning, but it has been pretty smooth sailing so far.
Brentt_M Posted July 17, 2022 Author #39 Share Posted July 17, 2022 I know there has been a lot of discussion around mariner society receptions since restart. I did not attend the welcome reception, but I did have an invite for one in my cabin.
Rare 1025cruise Posted July 17, 2022 #40 Share Posted July 17, 2022 Just to note there are 100 or so "TWiT"s on board with you. They shouldn't be too scary. In fact, I see one of the hosts sitting at the table behind you in one of your pictures 🙂

There is also decent size group from Turning Point Ministries on board. I am a CIO in my day job so the TWiT group won't bother me at all.
Rare Kristal Blade Posted July 17, 2022 #42 Share Posted July 17, 2022 Thanks for reviewing, it’s great to follow along. I will be on Zuiderdam next month and we will be a 3 generation group. First time for daughter and her family so we booked them a Neptune suite. Can you let me know how much dressing up happens for “dressy” night. My husband is wondering if he needs to pack his tuxedo. I say no, it’s Alaska and more casual, but he will have a “dressy” jacket and trousers with him. My dressy clothes take up a lot less room in the luggage! Thanks for any info.
westcoastsue Posted July 17, 2022 #43 Share Posted July 17, 2022 So what/who are TWiTS? I’m sure I’m showing my age!

Definitely don't have to pack the tuxedo, but there will probably be a few people wearing them on board. Some will be in suits and ties, others jeans and a sport coat, others slacks and a button down shirt with or without tie, and some less than that even. I will try to grab a couple pics of the general crowds this evening to try and give you a feel.

Rare 1025cruise Posted July 17, 2022 #46 Share Posted July 17, 2022 TWiT is a podcast network run by Leo Laporte, who also does a nationally syndicated radio show each Saturday and Sunday. He's hosting this cruise with fellow podcast host Paul Thurott (seen in the background of one of the OP's pictures) for about 100 fans. I almost booked this cruise, but I'll probably be going to Alaska next year with my brother.
westcoastsue Posted July 17, 2022 #47 Share Posted July 17, 2022 Thanks Brent. I figured as much but when Googled it couldn’t find a reference other than a Roald Dahl book. I hope you have better weather in Juneau than we did in May!

Brentt_M Posted July 18, 2022 Author #49 Share Posted July 18, 2022 "Dressy" night tonight so we tried the MDR. GF had a spa service at 5pm for some seaweed wrap and massage treatment. Was supposed to be a 100 minute treatment, but 7:30pm rolled around and I hadn't heard from her so I went to check on her. Ended up that oil's and lotions from the treatment got in her hair so she needed to have that done before we got dressed up. Service was good and food was very good. The salmon and crab dip app was really good, but you got one Itty bitty breadstick with it and then I just ate it with a fork. Really could have use sometime of chips or crackers with it. The chocolate and whiskey torte was tried by everyone at the table and none of us cared for it, but all the other desserts were devoured. Appetizers at the table: Salmon and Crab Dip Ceaser Salads Arugula Salad Beecher's cheese and prosciutto Entrées Salmon Roasted chicken Scallops Stuffed shells x2 Lasagna Desserts Ice cream with chocolate sauce x2 Baked Alaska x2 Chocolate and whiskey torte Black forrest cake Black forrest cake chocolate and whiskey torte baked alaska lasagna stuffed shells (winner at the table tonight) chicken salmon scallops crab and salmon dip Arugula Salad After dinner I went to billboard onboard and caught the request show. Really did not enjoy this session. They did a lot of Disney songs and several classic rock songs. Classic rock is my favorite type of music, but Brady's cover of the songs was just not his strong suit at all. Also played in the casino some and got my butt kicked pretty good. They are giving me a "free" (read really expensive) dinner for 4 at Tamarind tomorrow. The girls went to the Tandem dance performance after dinner and thought it was good. My daughter is a dancer so usually watches all the shows even though she has seen them before. However, she said this one was different than the Tandem performances she saw on the 2 cruises last year. When we got back to the room we had a nice towel animal. and a couple small boxes of chocolates on the bed. Not sure if this is something new or a Pinnacle Suite thing, but never had these before. Anyways, it's a little after midnight and the boat is about to rock me to sleep. 5
