wcGma Posted July 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2022 What are the topics presented on the cruises that visit Norway and Iceland? What are typical re: history, Viking mythology, animals, natural features? If you’ve been, I would appreciate your input.
TayanaLorna Posted July 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2022 (edited) I recall there were some great lectures - Vikings and Norway/UK involvement in WWII on our Bergen to London cruise. I don't recall any wildlife, Sami or geological lectures but give me a day to pull out my Viking Daily's and I will let you know. On our Iceland cruise we were out every single day for 8-10 hours and did not attend talks but I will look at those Daily's also. We did Midnight Sun cruise in 2018 and Iceland in 2021. Both fabulous. Edited July 15, 2022 by TayanaLorna Adds

To a certain extent, it depends on who they have hired for the journey, so what has been presented in the past isn't necessarily a good gauge of what will be presented on future cruises. Any of the subjects mentioned are possible topics and you won't know for sure until you board. Viking tries to give a variety of topics, a little of everything in order to appeal to as board an audience as possible.

duquephart Posted July 16, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2022 At least a couple (by a former RAF fighter pilot) on our recent Homelands were nothing short of excellent. Several on the above list sound very interesting. Viking should make these available.
wcGma Posted July 16, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted July 16, 2022 Wow. Quite an impressive list. Hope some of these will be on our cruise though also anticipate some longer days in Iceland as well as post dinner 🍷 somnolence might limit time and energy to watch. Thank you for taking the time to dig out those dailies and post.

I'm still chuckling about the "only leave behind pennies" line in the article. I'll have to find that restaurant or hotel! 🍺🥌
