Rare Jim_Iain Posted August 14, 2022 Author #801 Share Posted August 14, 2022 (edited) Qaqortoq is a small quiet town, especially on a Sunday. We initially explored. The only gift souvenir shop was right at the port but the lines were so long we decided against buying anything Edited August 14, 2022 by Jim_Iain 13

Rare Jim_Iain Posted August 14, 2022 Author #804 Share Posted August 14, 2022 (edited) As you can see I was keeping myself amused while waiting for our tour. A small group of 6 were called for our adventure. Turned out to be a fun group. Had a close pass by visit to an ice berg. After 30 minutes we arrived at Hvalsey (whale Island) Edited August 14, 2022 by Jim_Iain 12
Rare Jim_Iain Posted August 14, 2022 Author #805 Share Posted August 14, 2022 (edited) The guide waited for a second boat. Both the boat driver and the guided struggled with English but tried very hard. She did direct us to the church and the signs that described the 1300 settlement. You have a fine eye for detail. You also have a beautiful upbeat spirit. You're a pleasure to read. Best wishes and happy sailing. Wow... what a surprise. She was so upbeat and a delight to talk to. Rare Jim_Iain Posted August 14, 2022 Author #807 Share Posted August 14, 2022 (edited) May have to post the ancient church later as time for pre-dinner cocktails. As we departed it has been dense fog. Suddenly. Looks like looking out the window of a plane. Edited August 14, 2022 by Jim_Iain

I tell you that after being married and the citizens of California voting to make gay marriage was a real slap in the face. Luckily the State Supreme court quickly ruled that existing marriages were grandfathered. What a mess for taxes though. The Feds would not allow us to file a Joint Return. I put down Married as a protest. They made us file a Partnership Return (like a business) We had to put 1/2 our income and expenses on each other's returns. To file our accountant had to create 5 different returns to comply with both state and federal law. 😡

Rare Jim_Iain Posted August 14, 2022 Author #820 Share Posted August 14, 2022 Almost caught up. It was so sunny and warm 3 of us chose to sit outside on the bow of the boat. Half way back the temperatures dropped and the wind picked up. Waves were splashing over the helm. We froze our A S S off. It was too rough to move back where my coat hat and gloves were. Great view of icebergs and the Captain and rest of the group laughing at us. 8
hawkesbaynz Posted August 14, 2022 #821 Share Posted August 14, 2022 (edited) Beautiful scenery. Looks like my mother’s part of the world - north Donegal but with Icebergs. Your triple cappuccino sounds like a macchiato. I once asked for a double macchiato in Italy and was looked at in disdain. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffè_macchiato Edited August 14, 2022 by hawkesbaynz Add info

Masks will be required in Casino when seated and theater. From previous cruises that is usually an indication there are over 1% of guest affected. Jim, there were no mandatory mask signs posted at the theater or casino entrances prior to or after the early 6:30. Have you heard any update from your sources as to why not? Here’s hoping their policy has changed and the B2B folks won’t have to be tested prior to transition day. 🤞🤞

You should pretend to read her palm and cite all the facts--Pan Am stew, writer, lover of birds--that you know about her. Maybe you're not a prankster. But it would be pretty funny. 2
