The tradeoff is that vaccinated no longer need pre-cruise testing on most itineraries.  Show proof of something you've already done regardless of the cruise (getting vaccinated) or get tested specifically for the cruise... your choice of "burdens".  But the latter is definitely more of a "burden" than the former.
