backnine05 Posted August 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2022 Looking at cruises on the celebration in January and just curious if anyone knows why prices are so much less expensive even when compared to Feb or March? Just want to make sure it’s not going to still be under construction or something?
mz-s Posted August 20, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2022 It's just a slow time of year for travel.
Wennfred Posted August 20, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2022 (edited) She starts sailing in November 2022, way past the construction. It will be an old worn down ship by the time you get on her. Edited August 20, 2022 by Wennfred
Rare BlerkOne Posted August 20, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2022 People are still broke from Christmas. February has a holiday and spring break starts in March.

CruizinSusan70 Posted August 20, 2022 #8 Share Posted August 20, 2022 January is a great time to cruise. It's post Christmas and before holidays in February and spring break. Did 7 days on the Celebrity Edge in January of 2020 and 12 days on the Celebrity Apex in January of 2022. Have 5 days on the Celebration booked for January of 2023 combined with 7 on the NCL Encore. Also have 14 booked on the Celebration for January of 2024.
mondello Posted August 20, 2022 #9 Share Posted August 20, 2022 I was shocked to get a casino offer for a free cabin on Celebration for 8 days over Christmas, 12/19-12/27/2022. Third/fourth pax fares at $249. Such a great deal I'll let my son bring a buddy.
kelkel2 Posted August 20, 2022 #10 Share Posted August 20, 2022 I love cruising in January, but now that we have kids it’s not really feasible. I’m sure a lot of others have the same issue. With higher demand goes higher prices. If you have the ability to cruise in January do it!
deliver42 Posted August 20, 2022 #11 Share Posted August 20, 2022 Early December and early January are the cheapest times of the year.
cellfree Posted August 20, 2022 #12 Share Posted August 20, 2022 We have B2B booked for January, great prices for new ship. Haven’t cruised on Mardi Gras yet so wanted to get on Celebration when new.

Will do Celebration in 2024, and then will be moving on to other brand ships. Edited August 20, 2022 by Wennfred
Indytraveler83 Posted August 20, 2022 #14 Share Posted August 20, 2022 We typically cruise in January due to the low prices. We've also found (prior to the pandemic anyways) that this was the least busy time of year. Book and enjoy!

I believe that the first week of December, right after Thanksgiving and of course before Christmas is usually the cheapest week of the year on average. I always look in January because it's slightly less crowded and more adults than kids
