Tillylovesseabourn Posted August 21, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2022 (edited) Has anyone experienced any issues with getting out of the area with a car when lots of ships are in port? Or are things pretty organised? thanks in advance. Edited August 21, 2022 by Tillylovesseabourn
majortom10 Posted August 21, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2022 You might get busier traffic but no great hold ups or delays over the years on leaving Southampton.
exlondoner Posted August 21, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2022 Winchester Bypass towards A34 might be a problem, but then it usually is.

I should imagine it is because it is Sunday morning as there will be no local traffic for people going to work and very few self disembark compared to those that dont.
KJBL Posted August 21, 2022 #7 Share Posted August 21, 2022 There are also currently roadworks on the M3 from junction 14 up to junction 9 (Winchester/A34 interchange) which is certainly causing quite a slowdown along that stretch - worth being aware of for anyone heading towards London if they've got flights to make! Roadworks will be ongoing until at least next summer, I believe.

It was actually 4 ships in Southampton this morning QV, QM2, Norwegian Prima and Brittania. We disembarked QV at 8.10am and after collection of car from cps were on the road at 8.50am. Really impressed. My review will be done in next couple days. Arrived home just over 5hrs later in North Yorkshire. Book bug Posted August 22, 2022 #10 Share Posted August 22, 2022 Yes indeed Norwegian Prima was in on Saturday, seen with my own eyes, along with three other ships. Pretty busy mid morning especially along towards ocean and QE2 terminals
