Wow, the price hikes are steep today!

This September 1st cruise was $50 yesterday for interior. I expected a raise in prices, but not ten times the price from yesterday. I guess carnival has some indication that they will fill this sailing and does not need to offer last minute discounts.

Every time I see a $50 or $20 or whatever cruise, if I can go I book it right then. I've lost them in the time it takes to pick a room in the booking engine. Some of them are extremely limited.

If it was $50 you got a sale, there was a flash sale sent out recently for $50 cruises that only lasted a couple days. You are now seeing the normal price for this cruise... Not a price hike at all.

This was not a flash sale. This was the price of that cruise for the last 8 days. I have been checking it for weeks. Before that it was 65 for a week.

You  may have been getting some other special offer.  I have been seeing reduced rates for me because of a casino special.  There are all kinds of things you could possibly qualify for that is why you saw lower prices.  The "new" prices you see are normal and not high at all.  The $50 is just a special price and not normal.

Even my 4 and 5 day cruises outing texas are about $100 a day. I need to get moved to florida. No deals for me. I agree prices are up.

Do you always sail solo? I know over the past few months while many people including myself have been getting great offers especially during the birthday sale but you were not. It seems to be continuing this way for you still even though you have more carnival cruises under your belt. Is it always a solo cruiser thing that keeps you from getting the good offers?

With all of the talk of price hikes, I found it pretty interesting I have 7 day itineraries on the Celebration in January for $300pp. I may just have to jump on that.

Brand new ship for a week?  Yeah, I'd jump on that.

I often took friends and just asked them to pay fees and taxes. During covid I learned rcl had 25% off solos if I had more loyalty pts and if I sailed solo rcl gives me a extra loyalty pt making me less likely to invite friends as I decided to chase rcl pts this year.

Carnival seems straight forward but rcl always has ifs and or butts and the 25% cant be added to already paid in full cruises. I was going to get there after my allure in dec and that was ok until I found out wouldnt apply to my spring break oasis which is my highest per day booking. Though it might still not help as to apply it the current prices are used and it's gone up.

So I'm like hmmm and I could do 4 legs on grandeur and get the pts I needed from allure and get there in sept instead of dec. .. I'm not a fan of older ships it seems and it was the first cruise on rcl I was ready to get off after 4 legs. Grandeur is their oldest and smallest ship. If I say anything negative on the rcl boards I'm attacked, but that's my opinion. But I got the pts. 4 legs inside was about $1500 and those prices are now gone. I'm glad I did it but the more I hear about rules for using dp340 code the more I am rolling my eyes.

The 3 cruises I did on carnival put me at 197 pts. Any cruise will put me at diamond.

So I set up both cruiselines to be the next level even though carnival doesnt matter a lot. One free restaurant?  So now it no longer matters which one I book, imo. Whichever has a deal. I do like oasis ships so $721 solo rate allure sept 2023 including fees is better than vista is on carnival.

There are people I could invite. I think my 14 day dream since it's not a tba for 2nd pax would be refared to add someone. Rcl allows me to add someone but now that I know I get a extra pt I'm less likely to add someone. Just being honest. Few I know of family want to cruise. Friends would but I said ok let's split the fare going forward. I may never ever male pinnacle on rcl, but I might as well go solo and add the extra pts. Free wifi would be nice. No biggie if I never get there and carnival is cheaper.

Harmony solo before solo discount for a central park balcony I have booked nov 26 and dec 3 2023 is slightly less than jubilee lowest price inside. I want jubilee but i hope the price drops. I might be wrong thinking jubilee will drop. I cant apply dp340 to future rcl bookings except sept 2023 my ta locked in place. No idea why he didnt as I booked harmony recently. After sept I can quit pushing rcl pts, and doesnt matter which I book carnival or rcl. Just my bad luck carnival seems to have pushed up prices

Time for my diamond carnival cruise :).

Man I'd be so there. Solo rate for 1 on jubilee starts $1098 so about double your rate. $300 pp put me in a closet.
