chris153 Posted September 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2022 looking for august 2023. What cruiseline/ship has longest days in port. Also want Glacier bay and inside passage. Know that rules out RCI and Celebrity. This is a hard cruise to plan, so appreciate all your input.
disneyochem Posted September 4, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2022 I would look into either HAL or Princess cruising out of Vancouver on a smaller ship. Explore the itinerary for a ship the size of the Zuiderdam or Grand Princess—some ships are too large to sail the inside passage.
CruiserBruce Posted September 4, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2022 If you want "true" Inside Passage, that means either roundtrip out of Vancouver, or starting or ending in Vancouver. Princess, HAL and (a distant third) NCL have the most Glacier Bay visits. So that should give you some research targets.

And yes have narrowed it to the three cruiselines you mentioned. Just thought I would ask the experts here . I feel there is a wealth of info from everyone, kindly giving help. and info. I have narrowed it down alot, just seeing some beg differences in port times. Thanks for your help
Dancing Shoes Posted September 5, 2022 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2022 (edited) I can tell you that NCL has the worst dock in Ketchikan. It is at Ward Cove, and I believe it takes about 25 mins to walk to town. I know their time there is also short. Avoid. We went with HAL on the Volendam and liked the size of that ship in 2018. If you are wanting to do any shore excursions that take you up Tracy Arm, don't go early in the season.
