Covid Test in Montreal

We are embarking from Montreal on the Insignia next month. Canada requires a Covid test before boarding the ship. Has anybody been tested in Montreal, and if so, where was it done, and what type of test?

Thank you,

I have not used Montreal sites, but Google "covid test near port of montreal" and you will get a map that shows many potential sites, reasonably close to the Quai Alexandra (where I assume you embark from).

You have other options, depending on your travel itinerary to Montreal. The testing requirement is 72 hours in advance for a molecular test (PCR is one example, Walgreens offers a rapid NAAT that is also acceptable), or 2 days in advance for an antigen test. Either could be done at home if that fits with your schedule. You could also consider a proctored antigen test via the internet if you are in Montreal earlier, or ask your hotel for assistance.

FYI, the required ArriveCan app information is separate from the testing requirement. 🍺🥌

Santecare, Biomedic, Dynacare are all names you can google - “Covid testing for travel Montreal”

Montreal is a large city so hard to give you specific locations.

‘’There was testing at the airport so you might want to follow that up if you are flying in - results in 25 minutes

Pre-entry testing is not required

Pre-entry tests are not required for fully vaccinated travellers entering Canada by land, air or water. You must still use ArriveCAN within 72 hours before your arrival to Canada.

Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children under the age of 12 are not required to provide a valid pre-entry test result, if they are accompanying a fully vaccinated adult.

Children who are less than 5 years old are not required to test, regardless of their vaccination status.

You are partially correct

Cruise pax require testing to board  the ship  if stopping  or returning to Canada

As stated by @1985rz1, and per the Canada cruise ship website posted by @LHT28, all pax boarding in Canada require a pre-boarding test. The quote you were looking at is the 'general' entry information - in which "water" refers to ferries or private yachts. There are more stringent restrictions for the cruise ships.

The reference to "water" on the general site is very confusing for travellers, but I've had no response to my email to the gov't suggesting they make it clearer ... 🍺🥌
