I'm on the 9/22 sailing as well.  No way I'm canceling.

Fiona should be past Bermuda by our arrival on Saturday.  Yes, there could be post-storm impact on the island from the day before, but I'm more than willing to take the chance as we're on a floating hotel.  Saturday, our first day, is forecast for 20 percent chance of rain and 80 degrees.

Also, the ship will probably take whatever course is necessary to avoid rough waters, if there will be any....as the path is the forecast to veer east.

...and no, Bermuda won't give you back your $40.

Yeah I figured they wont refund. Id like to avoid it altogether at this point. A cruise with choppy waters is my worst nightmare. Its happened to me once recently and it took a hold of me. 😫 I could be wrong but i dont see how or why they would go in that direction. They skipped that port 2 weeks ago bc of tropical storm earl.
i cant imagine the folks flying in to be i formed theyre not going to bermuda. Horrible. I live in the city. I can and will go back of we dont make it this time.

Yikes! I'm so sorry this happened to you and that it caused you to retreat to your room early! Hopefully you don't run into this fellow any more on the cruise and he doesn't do anything creepy to other ladies onboard. Ugh...some people need to get a clue (yes, I understand it could be a mental health issue as well, and I hope he gets the help he needs, if so), or stop drinking alcohol.

Thank you, @cruiseny4life  It was quite strange. We received an update from the Haven concierge that the security team and officer were involved and would be sure to watch this person. As you said, we have no idea if it was a mental health issue or alcohol or what.

We had a beautiful day arriving at Bermuda!

We used the thermal spa as we were docking and it was nearly empty. We have had no issues getting access to the heated tile lounge after the first day which was an at sea day as chairs have had great availability after day one.

With the weather being perfect, we took advantage of a gentle breeze and had dinner at Ocean Blue which was delicious again. We are struggling this cruise with being able finish our meals and hate to waste the food. Thanks to many others who have posted about this on CC, we were able to use our La Cucina/Moderno Latitudes Platinum and above dinner voucher at Ocean Blue. Thank you NCL! This is a wonderful option!

We are also thankful to those who posted in the past about the Premium Plus beverage upgrade. This is the third cruise we have enjoyed trying high end wines and cognac for my husband.  A glass of Veuve Clicquot was refreshing and nicely paired with appetizers at Ocean Blue.

Pictured below are scallops, blazing shrimp, repeats of us ordering beets and clam chowder soup again, plus entrees of Halibut and fried fisherman’s platter.  The sides are the super yummy Brussel sprouts, au gratin potatoes, mushroom risotto and creamed spinach.  We failed once again to be able to consider dessert with all of that fantastic food.  D72D3104-2AE0-4031-BA3C-D13F1E4545E9.thumb.jpeg.a37161cb278445552238a654f4f12ca6.jpegB4D0D7CE-A741-4C1F-9880-DCE19B1F990D.thumb.jpeg.ac9905160a64646b3bf856a09161cf40.jpeg097A967F-A4F5-4F48-872B-AC9CF83DBE2A.thumb.jpeg.c39310931aa922b855c55d613ea293e0.jpeg7BF24A69-71D0-4707-B023-25651D5D5D1C.thumb.jpeg.944897aa952a9dcfaaeeee2bfc1b6c4c.jpeg6BDB2AF2-F995-4355-A664-C2B351F9DEFD.thumb.jpeg.042aba1d64738b9f9baf0f283064de9f.jpeg4FFD91C5-813C-4A72-BB61-F147E9CD9E0B.thumb.jpeg.0cb57f8c953cf081f45ee71294e806c3.jpeg93F0250E-AAD7-4C59-B720-5147C1FC759D.thumb.jpeg.a1500ce273a9e601496ee16ea74b09e7.jpegF1A26D0C-AFA1-4A2D-9B00-91E8908B33F3.thumb.jpeg.0192e6577016b5c28a2b115a62a52698.jpeg

We kind of miss the District Brewhouse which was on the Bliss and Encore.  We really liked the entertainment option with the piano players.

There are so many entertainment options so we are not bored but think that is something we do miss visiting at the end of the night.

IIRC, Getaway has Howl at the Moon (I assume its still there), but I assume you are referring to more of a lounge act piano player, right?  So the Getaway has no piano lounge act?  That's really surprising.

We will leave Bermuda this afternoon. We have not heard anyone discuss any changes to the five day cruise to Bermuda scheduled to leave on Thursday. If we do hear of anything, I’ll share the info as we know this is stressful and unsettling for those on the cruise later this week.

Here is the Day 9 daily. 78F17B7E-63D3-4854-BE10-44D26120BF1D.thumb.jpeg.036f79ad6e56b61fd27ab8c5f53fe295.jpegE97BF59C-50FD-4628-899A-407E88726B0C.thumb.jpeg.21089cf6ed437e9a5819bf888ecd91fe.jpeg77FD060E-D988-46EB-B45D-EB578B06AB2D.thumb.jpeg.b2ed28724ac9eafaec57b6c51a92dbc8.jpegA61EBFD7-4CEA-49BC-983A-84F32800367A.thumb.jpeg.92898002e4e58c8525e7b2a145490a45.jpeg

I just checked a few of your dailies, looks like Howl at the Moon is gone.  Maybe it never was on Getaway and I am misremembering which ship has/had it?  Regardless, still surprised that there is no lounge piano player.

While I mentioned that we miss the District Brewhouse piano player for entertainment that we really liked on the Encore and Bliss at the end of the evening, we did enjoy the dueling pianos in Headliners last night but still prefer the format used in the District Brewhouse of one piano player.

These performers were very talented and as usual, there are so many entertainment options even when we had a night in port.

I just saw your response after posting about Howl at the Moon dueling pianos. There is the fabulous Antonio who is on and we really enjoy his extensive song choices and his musical talent.

We know many people like the dueling piano format but we prefer the one piano player who gets the audience involved like we experienced in the District Brewhouse or like is done in Magnums on Jewel class ships.

It figures - the couple of Dailys I checked were for days that Howl wasn't playing.   Glad to hear they still have it (wish Encore had them for my upcoming Encore cruise).

While we very much enjoy Howl, we also like the piano player like you mention and sad to hear they no longer have that on Getaway.

Thanks for letting us travel along with you.

Well—maybe, maybe not.

We missed Bermuda on our Getaway cruise (almost the same itinerary as OP), and NCL mentioned that they'd be working with Bermuda to refund us the TA cost, and to keep an eye on our email for more details.

We've been back a little over a week and haven't heard anything yet, but I have to imagine the Bermuda government moves pretty slowly in these matters.

The answer is Yes - Diet Sprite

Oh, snap, my kids will be thrilled to see Diet Sprite and Orange Fanta in October!

Glad you were able to hit up Bermuda despite the incoming hurricane and am sorry about the creep. That is really unsettling, and I especially feel for the women sitting alone because it is extra uncomfortable when stuff like that happens.

Just now we're watching Getaway depart from Heritage Wharf. She did something very strange .... she was docked port side, but when she pulled away from the dock she did a 360 turn before straightening up to sail ahead.

Can someone enlighten to us why she did the 360 turn?

They probably don't get to do that very often, practice makes perfect

I have no idea what ap you are using to see this or how it works, but, any chance it's a glitch in the ap?  Maybe signals were interrupted and the software got confused or made a best guess of what the ship actually did?

We are on the Getaway and my husband could not figure out why the 360 degree turn happened either. It seemed like we traveled East for a period of time before turning North west towards New York.  We did notice that Sugarcane area was vibrating so much more than is usual after Sail away from Bermuda.

We woke up to a beautiful morning in Bermuda. As we have traveled here previously, it was nice to explore something different. Here are photos from the National Museum of Bermuda.  Cost is $15/adults and age 16+, $12 for seniors, and ages 15 and under are free. We went when it opened at 9am.

It is about 1/4 mile walk or so from the ship. We do recommend it.

This is also where the dolphins from Dolphin Quest are located. You can watch people swimming with the dolphins.

The skies became overcast just before it was time for sail away. All aboard time was 2:30pm.  Two passenger names were called on the intercom system at 2:45pm.

We watch as a white taxi pulled up to the port building and the missing passengers emerged from the van and people cheered as they ran towards the ship. The captain reported that we would now be able to depart as we had our missing passengers.  DBE42525-531C-4437-8373-D5EE1EC82624.thumb.jpeg.c5d6ee402b935e3ba9ce87b86fc05cc9.jpeg675ED81B-8C1B-4401-95EF-8CEB9530F8B9.thumb.jpeg.0df2cb35cf16c8ca83f0ab7ca46b58f5.jpeg

We had a lovely evening on the ship with many different entertainment options again. We know many passengers loved the different theater options including Burn the Floor while others really liked Broadway Unplugged.

As we and a packed audience at Sugarcane love Prelude Duo, we enjoyed listening to them for several hours.  A favorite set was when they sang a tribute to The Bee Gees. You should not miss this as they are incredibly talented. We hope they get assigned to a venue that holds more people as they do have many fans who saved seats well ahead of the start time.  There were no seats remaining with many standing all around Sugarcane.
