Which cabin would you choose going to Antarctica? Aft facing regular balcony or a Mini Suite?

Ship:   Sapphire

Very rarely am I in a quandary over which cabin to pick but this time I'm undecided and need some advice from those who have cruised to Antarctica.

I have a casino offer for a mini suite, but an aft facing regular balcony is available (not a mini).   Also available is a mini-suite cabin D728 which is the farthest aft cabin with a covered deck and it is a bigger than normal size balcony.   It's above Club Fusion, but I've been there before, so I'm not worried about that.

My concern is more about the wind.

So, what would you guys do?   Pick the mini or the aft facing?

Is the aft facing balcony covered or half covered?  I’d take the aft if at least partially covered and a nice sized balcony.

We spent a lot of time on our balcony touring South America/Antarctica and

it was so beautiful.  We look for half covered, large balconies.  The wind shouldn’t be an issue, in a center aft.

The wrap around balconies get windy.

I would go with the aft facing if only the couple of days cruising Antarctica are the main consideration.  We were on the Coral Princess in a starboard side full suite in Antarctica in 2020 but spent a lot of our time on the open aft deck as it was more protected.  That said, more room in the mini suite cabin is awfully nice for such a long cruise with so many sea days.  And the Sapphire has a nice wraparound Promenade deck so you can spend a lot of the Antarctica time there.  If you're anything like me you'll want to view the sights from multiple places, bundled up appropriately of course.

You guys are the bomb......Thank you!     I really appreciate the picture @Ken the cruiser, you helped me tremendously.      It's an aft facing balcony for us, I'm happy to give up the space of the mini for less wind.

I did the South America cruise in 2010 and we had an aft facing on Celebrity and I loved it.

Truly, thank you guys!
