Anniversary vow renewal

Can anyone tell me how we would go about doing a vow renewal aboard ship? Do we wait until we are on board or who should we contact to set this up ahead of time. Our anniversary will be the day board.

We are renewing our vows on the Mariner in January, 2023.

We went through this process beginning in late 2019, anticipating a Renewal of Vows (50th Wedding Anniversary) when aboard Splendor during its 2020 Inaugural series of cruises.  Ours was planned shortly after boarding Splendor at San Diego on March 14th of that Year.  That was to be for a Panama Canal transit to NYC.  

 

This was coordinated with our TA; it was to be "officiated" by Cruise Director John Barron (no-longer with Regent) attended by dear friends who were present at our wedding; and our TA and TA's spouse who had become our friends.  A reception was also planned after the ceremony.  Everything arranged, down to the details as to when, and where, on Splendor.  (A sea-day.)    

 

Alas, COVID intervened.  Cruise was canceled on March 13th while we were at Regent's designated hotel at San Diego.  Back to Redmond, WA for the Lock-down.  

 

Result: Disappointment, of course.  However, Regent refunded the funds.  Then--totally unexpected:  Comes Christmas, 2020.  A very-carefully wrapped package arrived.  The special bottle of champagne that was to be served at the reception, together with a kind letter from Regent enclosed.  

 

We still have that bottle.  Await a time in the future when an event of equal importance will occur occasioning opening.  Hey, maybe on our 75th Anniversary. 

 

Bottom Line:  Regent will work with you and (hopefully) a TA who REALLY knows Regent on the details.

Last night, onboard Splendor, Captain Luciano performed his first wedding renewal ceremony for two couples.  It was held on the deck 4  atrium area and we saw the decorations.  It looked lovely.

We renewed our wedding vows on Voyager for our silver wedding anniversary 2010 . Our TA arranged everything for us and it was very special .   Jean.

We have done this on regent on 3 separate cruises and enjoyed it each time. Lovely music, florals, champagne, commemorative program and cake. You can invite as many guests ( new or old friends amongst fellow cruisers) as well as they provide link for live streaming for friends and family not lucky enough to be on cruise with you. We always book prior to boarding however you meet with cruise director on board to coordinate date, time, etc and visit locale on board. Great way to meet Captain and Senior officers entertainers. Definitely worth the cost!!!

I booked it for our December splendor cruise to surprise my husband. Our 21 years old son will be with us. I hOpe for some unforgettable moments.
