For those already sailing, which venues are masks required.

Nowhere for guests.

Inside for crew.

You can wear a mask in the theatre or other heavily populated areas if you are more comfortable doing so.

We came off the Odyssey on 9/6 and I don't recall much of anything requiring masks.  That said, the crew was required to mask.  On crowded tenders where we were not near moving fresh air (opposite ends), we put on masks.  When the Colonnade got busy at lunch and it was measurably warm in there, we ate outside or at The Patio.  Same in the Grand Salon when it was full (Tribute to Sir Tim Rice). Just trying to be safe. We dodged the covid thru six airport visits, four flight legs and 11 days on the ship.

 

Masks were required in the Vancouver airport.  We changed airplanes in Chicago and were required to wear masks on the Chicago-Vancouver flight leg and on our return flight from Vancouver to Chicago. No mask? Here's one, said the flight attendant.

We have not cruised yet because of the specter of Covid and the desire not to wear masks while cruising.  We have worn masks in public whenever we thought there was a possible exposure.  We recently took our first trip--a domestic road trip--and came home with Covid--from which we are now recovering.  Needless to say, our likelihood of cruising has been pushed even further into the future.  I cannot tell you how disappointed we are.  If we WERE cruising, we would wear masks whenever necessary.  This is such a discouraging time for travel.  I do envy those of you who have cruised successfully without succumbing to this dastardly virus.

@SLSD So sorry to hear you were felled by Covid! We can all take common sense precautions, or even extreme precautions, and it's still a crapshoot who will get it and who will escape untouched. We're certainly hoping our third post-coved cruise will continue our lucky streak.

Thank you.  And all best wishes for continuing your lucky streak in cruising.  i think we were just very unlucky--and hope to cruise sometime again.

The bright side is you are near immune for at least the next 3 months, so maybe now is the time to cruise

 

Interesting you say this.  As part of a UK study, we have a blood test every 4 weeks to test for antibodies.  We both had Covid beginning of April... and the immediate test after getting it showed our antibodies as 'at a higher level' and at every test since  (which is different to before we got covid which just showed antibodies at a normal level following vaccination) 

This is good to know, there has to be some benefit to getting covid!

So we are 5 months on and just yesterday did our blood tests, so it will be interesting to see if that still applies when we get our results.   Especially as we embark on our big SB cruise next week!
