Mumsysailor Posted September 25, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2022 (edited) Our TA at the end of October has Halloween as the last night before Southampton. There is no mention of any special activities onboard. Is there likely to be something or is it completely ignored? BigMac1953 Posted September 25, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2022 There will certainly be Hallowe'en decorations in the main aitrium on the run up. Perhaps not much more as the last night will be non formal.
bluemarble Posted September 25, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2022 (edited) The one time we were on board QM2 for Halloween was in 2015. They decorated the ship quite a bit for Halloween on that occasion. Here are a couple of my photos showing the decorations in the Grand Lobby and in Kings Court for that crossing. Halloween on our 2015 crossing is the only time I've actually seen that night listed as a "Halloween Ball" for the theme in the dress code/theme schedules published beforehand. Halloween was a non-formal evening on that crossing and once on board the daily programme billed that evening as "Halloween Party Night" in the Queens Room. I agree with @BigMac1953 that there may not be much more than a Halloween theme to the decorations on your crossing though since it is the final night of your crossing. TheOldBear Posted September 25, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2022 Our only time onboard for Halloween was in 2010 - on a Canada & New England sailing. There were enough children on board to have a costumed parade - perhaps this is unlikely for a transatlantic.
devolve Posted September 26, 2022 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2022 A few years ago we were onboard for halloween. And in the Queens room the staff unexpectedly appeared in costumes and danced to Michal Jackson’s Thriller. It was a great night.

Tonopah Posted September 27, 2022 #7 Share Posted September 27, 2022 The ship stalls in the middle of the ocean. All the power goes out. The emergency lighting doesn’t work. The ship starts to list to port. The crew is nowhere to be found. Is that music in the Queen’s Room? There’s a scream. Somewhere, a dog barks… It really is your final night. Happy Halloween Cunard never does things half way, do they?

If it’s the last night of the voyage, the ship won’t be in mid ocean. On the other hand, blundering up the Channel under demoniacal control might be far worse. 😀😀
