covid instances on recent cruises

We will be sailing in November and I was just curious to find out if there were regular instances of Covid cases aboard (which I assume are all quarantined in their rooms).

Several on each of the two Pride cruises we just finished.  Quarantined.  Crew masked.  But few passengers masked.

We didn't see any on our recent Legend.  Crew masked - some better than others. Virtually no pax wearing them, including us.

We met one couple on the legend in Sept where husband was constantly coughing. One morning she showed up to breakfast alone wearing a mask. " They separated us" she said.

5 days later he rejoined her.

Pride's Captain tested positive last night.

On Breeze in September.  Never announced any Covid cases. However, we did notice small tables with food trays in front of some cabin doors.  There was a cabin close to us that had the tray table for most of the cruise.  Covid?  Maybe those people just ordered room service?

I noticed the same tray tables outside several cabins on my recent Wind Surf cruise. The cabins were all close to the Medical Center. Seemed likely to me to be passengers in quarantine.

Same thing on two September Pride cruises, but not near Med Center.  Also saw passengers with luggage being escorted off the ship followed by a cloud of sprayed disinfectant.

We got off the Pride on Sunday. My husband and I both tested positive for Covid this morning. He's coughing, I am having cold-like symptoms and a lot of fatigue. I imagine there are quite a few other passengers going through the same thing now.

Still few masks on Pride.  Haven't seen any folding tray tables outside rooms.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Don't rush things, let the body heal.

I spent two years in a customer-facing role here in Scotland and never got Covid. I was the only one of 12 at Christmas in Santa Fe who never got Covid.

 

And now I have had it twice this year (March and August) and am awaiting the test result for a possible third bout! And my fourth vaccine is booked for November.

There is a lot of it about now, and it's pretty much established medical knowledge that the vaccine only reduces the effects rather than offers complete protection. But hey, I'd rather be sick than dead!

 

And I travel, and mix, and meet, and live life. Life for me is quality, not quantity.

I agree. The vaccine won't prevent you from getting Covid, but will keep you out of the hospital. We got the latest booster just a few weeks before the cruise.

 

My feelings before the cruise (and still are) that if you are really worried about getting Covid, you just shouldn't travel.  It is sooooo contagious. Otherwise, live your live.
