I’m taking my first YC cruise on the Meraviglia a little over a month from today and I’m really excited! I’d love to know if anyone had any recent yacht club experiences that they’d want to share. Good things, bad things, special experiences that you weren’t expecting. Let me know how everything went! I’m getting myself too hyped

YC is awesome.  We had Vince as our waiter, and he was awesome (the booking agent in India played games with him, and he left for another Cruise Line).

Butlers will do as little or as much as you ask for them.  The snacks in the lounge are awesome.  Will always cruise MSC because we love the YC.  We are on Meraviglia on 11/6.   Cannot wait.

the YC restaurant on Ocean Cay serves great food, and the golf cart is the best.

We loved our YC experience On Seashore. As a matter of fact, we’ve booked another experience for Meraviglia for November. It was really, really nice being escorted on board on embarkation day. We were taken to the YC lounge and greeted with a ready made cocktail. We then proceeded upstairs to the restaurant for lunch. Such an awesome way to start to the vacation. Our bar tenders in the YC lounge learned our likes very quickly. After only a day they knew I liked to start with really cold sparkling wine followed by an espresso martini after dinner.
We also enjoyed the live music in the YC lounge. DH and I had the dance floor  to ourselves every night. I’m not sure why others didn’t dance but we had a blast. On our last night, some of the wait staff from the restaurant came down after dinner service and danced with us. DH and I have been taking dance lessons for a while so it was fun to put our new skills to work. However, many of the waiters had amazing dance moves. It was a blast.
In all, we were totally spoiled. They took excellent care of us all week. We are pretty low maintenance but from the butler to the concierge, I felt like everyone went out of their way to make sure we had a great vacation. You are right to be excited!  Enjoy!

We are scheduled for our 5th YC cruise for 17 days on the MSC Seaside from Marseille France to Point a Pitre Guadeloupe.

Your in for an amazing experience!. The service in the Yacht Club is world class hands down. I can't even bring myself to sail on another cruise line because I know it will not be close to the same experience.

The Topsail lounge and the Yacht club restaurant are amazing-The butlers are fantastic and are always doing really nice things for you. The food is amazing, the service is amazing and everything is great.

Here is the downside to the Yacht Club>It is like crack cocaine because once you try it you can never get away from it. Your days become unproductive because you are thinking of the next YC cruise to book and everything else becomes unimportant LOL.

Have a great time and happy sailing!

Following this, because I, too, just booked my first YC experience. MSC Meraviglia, NE/Canada, October 2023. A long way off, but something to look forward to! I was booked in the Aurea whirlpool suite, but saw a duplex YC suite available and decided to go for it based on everything I've read on CC forums. It will be only my third cruise ever, with the last one being nine years ago.

We are currently on Divina. Last 3 YC cruises were on Meraviglia.

We have noticed a distinctive difference between this ship and newer ships. Our YC experience has been not at the same level as before. Seems that MSC has removed some things that have been available.

One funny anecdote, received the pre- cruise questionnaire for liquor for each, newspaper and pillow preference. Once onboard, they had no idea of what we were talking about.
No pillow choice, and one bottle of liquor. Choice was Prosecco, 2 vodka brands,  2 gin brands and 2 Whiskey brands. Went with Bombay Sapphire Gin.

I asked about Cab. Sauvignon I had pre selected. Not on list or a choice .  Only 1 bottle per cabin, not per passenger.  That solves that matter.

YC lounge snacks pretty limited and not too enticing .

. It’s a good thing….I have already gained back the 10 lbs I lost over the summer🙄.

Lobster tail last night at dinner. Weird, tonight is Gala night and dinner menu   does not look that special.
Just had chocolate ships delivered…dark chocolate. No one has heard anything about white chocolate ships here.

Nap time……😴

My body loses all sense of regularity when I cruise (I know, TMI) so any weight gain I incur while cruising I chalk up to water retention because it's hot and, well,  being irregular.  I'm sticking with that excuse even if other factors may come into play 😎.

Can someone share his/her experiences in the Yacht Club on board MSC Fantasia please?

Ivi

Hi friend,

My wife and I were on the Fantasia and in the Yacht club this past December. Prior to the Fantasia we had only been on the YC of the newer ships like Grandiosa, Seaview etc.,.

The Fantasia was the first YC and the YC cabins are beautiful with dark teakwood and beautiful gold interior. Great walk-in closet space

The Topsail was beautiful as well and very spacious. The YC restaurant was the real highlight. Although on the other end of the ship, the restaurant is gorgeous and you feel like you are sitting in a beautiful French restaurant. The layout and design was really spectacular. The newer ships of course have the Topsail and YC restaurants attached and so is convenient if you are having drinks before simply walking up the stairs to dinner and so you lose this if it is important to you.

All in all the YC as usual is first class and the ship is beautiful as well.

Happy sailing!

Thank you for your kind answer. Is there a separate lift for the Yacht Club suites in the MSC Fantasia?

Hi friend,

They do have a separate lift which says Yacht club members only, however sometimes the other elevators were faster.

Best regards

We just disembarked from the Fantasia two weeks ago.  First of all, the Fantasia class ships (Splendida, Divina, Preziosa, and Fantasia) have always been our favorites.  All four are exactly the same, traditional and intimate.

The current YC director and chief butler are great as is the YC restaurant manager.  You'll have a wonderful cruise.  The internal lift in the YC goes from deck 14 (spa), the two cabin decks 15 and 16, and up to the lido deck 18.

I'm curious about dining in YC. Do they have smaller tables in the restaurant and is it easier to get a table for two?

Sitting as a twosome is never a problem in YC.
