Specialty restaurant, tip included?

Just got off Navigator.

I pretty much expect that the tip is included every time I paid for anything separately (like drinks), so I never put the "extra gratuity" when ordering drinks. However, I paid for dinners two nights at the specialty restaurants (Hooked, Izumi) before getting on the ship. And it wasn't clear to me if the tip was included in that. So when the check comes, it just shows 0.00 for everything, including gratuity. It had a spot for an "extra gratuity" and I did add $5 for one meal and $10 for another, but obviously that would be a pretty lousy tip for that kind of meal and that kind of service if there was no other gratuity included that I already paid.

Was I right to assume the gratuity was included when I pre-paid?

Even though it's included, we always give a little extra, since service has always been awesome 🙂

Same here.  We had the UDP, and our older version of Cruise Planner did not add a gratuity at check-out, but the fine print noted that it was included.  We still tipped some extra for each meal as the service was always excellent.
