What to Do in Singapore

I will have 1 day in Singapore on a cruise in fall of 2023. Just before COVID I had a full day in Singapore and did a private tour where I saw so much, including the Gardens by the Bay and Chinatown. I'm looking for something unique or different to do when I'm there next year. The ideas I have so far are the Orchid Garden and Raffles Hotel. What other suggestions do you have?

A few places you may or may not have seen last year:

Little India

Kampong Gelam, the Malayan district

and of course

the European area with eg. the Anglican and the Catholic Cathedrales, the Parliament building, the national art museum and more

Watch the light show in the Marina Bay.

If you are up for a bit of a hike, there's the Southern Ridges walk.

Having previously lived in Singapore - better known as “Disneyland with the Death Penalty” - my best advice is try not to get arrested or fined for doing anything that is fun, relaxing, or enjoyable.

If you could only do one of the Night Zoo or the Singapore Zoo, which is better?

There were at least two different Hop On/Off bus routes that I used and visited many sites.  The Orchid Garden is worth a visit.  And, if there for an overnight, the Night Zoo was quite an interesting experience.  

 

Raffles Hotel is worth a brief visit, but, not really tourist friendly just for a "look-see".  If there, one must have a Singapore Sling at the Long Bar.  A place in Singapore where littering (peanut shells) is allowed.

If you have been on a safari, do neither.  You will be disappointed .  The Singapore zoo is better than the Night Zoo IMO

If the night street BBQ is still  open "Lau Pa Sat" don't miss going. We went there two nights it was so good the best satay and peanut sauce we've ever had.
