When you receive a Upgrade advantage offer is the minimum bid based on fare paid on your current cabin or is it the same minimum bid for everyone?

minimum bid is the minimum bid that will be acceptable for the specific cabin. applies to all bidders, although all upgrade offers do not automatically include all cabins

From my experience, your minimum bid is based on your current room you're located in. 

 

If we're both bidding on an entry level Haven and you're currently in a balcony, and I'm currently in an MA - my bid will be lower than yours. Not by much, but lower. 

 

Last trip I had a friend in a BA and my folks were in an M4, their minimum bids for Haven were different.

The minimum/maximum bid is based on your current cabin. So, a Balcony bidding on a Haven Deluxe Owner's Suite will have a [much] higher minimum bid than a Haven 2BR bidding on that same Deluxe Owner's Suite.

As other's have said, it is based on your current room category. So all others in the same room category as you will have the same min/max range. Those in a lower category room will have a higher range for the same rooms and those in a higher category than you will have a lower range for the same rooms.

I think that your offer is based on what you paid for your current cabin.  So someone in an OV who paid more than someone else in the same category will be offered a lower opener for a balcony,
