I've tried it twice. Both times was driven out before the end of the meal by the smoke, streaming eyes, and smell of grease. Both times felt distinctly queasy all evening after and well into the next day. Will never go again.

You do realise you don't need to order the steak, I never do but my beloved is a carnivore and just loves the aroma.

Just found out that Sindhu is only opening for 5 nights, and all are fully booked. Apparently, bookings were only taken at Main Reception.
Now in Tenerife. Wind has died down and the weather is better.

I managed to book it on the App the day we boarded. Not often I get lucky.

A bit of excitement during the Sail Away last night when a female passenger lost the head and started fighting. All very bizarre.

Were they drunk, fightingwith who?  Any idea what happened to the offender?

On a positive note glad to hear sail aways are back, another sign of normality returning.

There didn’t seem to be any alcohol involved, somebody had wandered innocently in front of her camera. Security escorted her away. Bad behaviour obviously but the poor woman must have issues of some sort.

The only dining we could book before boarding was Limelight. Theatre bookings were available a few days before we boarded.

Thank you.  I'm glad you managed to get the things you wanted.

Ditto. Couldn’t book a speciality restaurant until we were on board. Used the App for both Beach House and Epicurean

This is not good news!  According to my booking I can book dining on 2 December for my Christmas cruise.  We are hoping to do the special Epicurean Epicurean Christmas dinner on Christmas day as we have on all our previous holiday cruises.  Hopefully as that is not a "normal" booking they will sort it out so all can try to book.  There are a lot of flights arriving at different times on 16 and 17 December and it would be extremely unfair if early arrivals get to snap up all reservations on the cruise.

Based upon our experience with Sindhu, I’d probably recommend going straight to Reception and making your restaurant bookings there. The App is not the quickest when using the ship’s wifi

Whales and dolphins seen shortly after departing Tenerife

I've never seen a whale in 20+ cruises despite being the sort of person who likes to sit out and enjoy the sea view. Good for you! Did you try to take pictures or was it all too brief?

All too brief, I’m afraid. Would love to have captured it

Puts me in mind of a cruise we did a few years back. Just north of Iceland we spotted them late at night (it was still light). My wife was ecstatic and had to be more or less dragged in at 0130 to get some sleep!  They were there for a couple of hours, clearly visible, and you could tell from the change in the water surface and colour where and when they were likely next to surface.

At breakfast there were people complaining that they’d been on a very expensive whale watching tour but seen nothing, wondering what they looked like. Simple answer from wife - look out of the window. Still there! Reinforced my longstanding, tight-fisted, refusal to buy overpriced and unnecessary cruise ship tours. DIY every time!

I have a great video shot of the splash a humpback made as it breached alongside our tour boat in Alaska.  My wife can remember it in vivid detail, whilst I was too busy trying to get the darned camera to do a video, so all I saw was the water spout.

Forgot to mention earlier/previously, at the Cruise Terminal we were asked to provide evidence of vaccinations and negative results for “observed LFT’s”. We were asked about travel insurance but didn’t have to show proof.

Oh crikey. I'm a bit confused. I didn't think we needed observed LFTs.  We're on Iona in 2 weeks? Has it changed.

It depends on which cruise you’re on. Observed LFT’s were only required for certain cruises - duration and countries visited being the main criteria
