Hi, arriving from UK for one night pre cruise.  Don't know the area and have never cruised from Tampa.  Can anyone give any advice for a mid price hotel and what areas to consider.

TIA

Sue

Yes....look at Tampa Marriott Water St...JW Marriott Water St...Embassy Suites Downtown Convention Center....Hampton Inn and Home 2 Suites Channelside.  The Downtown Tampa Riverwalk area and Channelside area are good places to stay for a night pre-cruise and close to the port.

Embassy Suites on Westshore near the airport is pretty nice and less than Downtown.  Great Happy Hour and breakfast. They took us to a restaurant in their van and picked us back up.  It was a $15 Uber to the port.  About 20 min.

We stayed here prior to our cruise. There's a nice shopping center about a mile walk away, which was totally doable for us. It had some high end shops, but also a large, outdoor dining promenade type area. Had a great meal at a British Pub type of restaurant actually!

We are also looking for a hotel. Preferably one that will allow us to keep a car there.

Holiday Inn Express Ybor City East.   Nothing fancy but clean and the people are very nice.   They have a large lighted parking lot where they allow you to leave your car for up to 14 days for $50.

We have stayed a couple of times with the car and are planning on staying there in April when flying in even though it's farther from the airport.
