@DandDM  Sorry for your loss.  I lost my husband (it will be a year next month can't believe it) and I cruised with my friend shortly after he passed and have cruised quite a lot since then.  I still find it awkward at times but most of the time I can find folks to chat with at a bar.  I eat solo at a small table and the staff have been pretty good at moving my dinner right along.  No desire to try a table with others.  I always wanted to try a CL but am also leery of the up and down the stairs all the time thing.  Also most of the venues I like to frequent are on the lower deck.  Enjoying your report  Keep it coming🙂

Hmm. I’ve posted twice with photos this morning and don’t see them…will try again this afternoon after tour.

I was on when they turned Starlink on for a day and encountered similar issues. They went away when they switched back to O3B. Might try a speedtest to see what they are using.

So very sorry for your loss.  I’m sure she would be happy you’re still sailing even though it will be different.

Couldn't have said it better.  May memories of your blessed wife comfort you in the days to come!  We appreciate you taking us along.  Prayers to you and your family! ♥️

Chops: started with bacon app, then mushroom soup.  NY Strip Steak with Bearnaise, and creamed spinach and baked potato as side.  All very good - the flavor of the steak was so good I wish they did the bearnaise on the side...

Also had Warm chocolate cake for dessert but ate it before I thought to take a photo.  Did not talk to anyone at dinner as they sat me on a two top in the corner...about when I was getting dessert they seated a young couple next to me, and I thought of starting a conversation, but didn't do it.  It was fine, was happy to just enjoy my food and wine.  Even being by myself, still took 90 minutes to eat.

Tonight is 150 central park; will try and remember to take photos!

Cheers,

Just witnessed a medical emergency and was very impressed by Royal's response.  Was in the SL when an "Alpha Alpha Alpha" went out for the mini golf course.  As my cabin looks directly on that, went back to my room and saw about a dozen Royal personnel (officer, lifeguards, and others) around a guy prone in a chair.  With my limited view and medical knowledge, thought it looked like they were hooking up an IV and giving him oxygen.  He was a younger guy (40's maybe) and appeared to be trim and in good shape.  Within five minutes of the call, they had him on a stretcher and out of the area.  Since they were not doing CPR, very hopeful it was heat exhaustion or something similar and not serious.  Took some photos, but then thought about it and deleted them.

Sure hope all turns out good for the guy and his family, no question that Royal's response was quick and efficient.

At 150 Central Park. Only four tables taken!  This is my favorite place, surprised it isn’t busier. Glad it’s Halloween, otherwise would be worried that the captain is seated nearby with a big glass of wine!

had a ‘garden martini’ made at the table.

Dinner at 150 Central Park was so good - with I had done them twice and skipped chops. Started with scallop and braised short rib appetizers. Couldn’t decide between the veal medallions and halibut for my main so asked my waiter for a recommendation. He brought both so I could decide. Peanut butter, hazelnut for dessert. Excellent  meal all around!

Wow, the posting is working well tonight. The Halloween event was supposed to start at 10. I got there a little early and got a good spot, very high energy in the room. 10pm came and went…nothing. At about 10:15, someone came on and said we were waiting for the cruise director to finish up at aqua show. He finally showed up and 10:30 and organized the folks in costume that wanted to be in the contest to do a sort of parade in front of him so they could choose who would be in the show. Really couldn’t see much of that…ended leaving at 11pm. The energy was gone and the prom quickly emptying out. Poorly executed event.

Went down to the casino, which was packed again. Many costumes in attendance. Gambling was worse than the first night (which was also very poor).

someone asked about bj mins. Saw one $10 6/5 table and two $15 3/2. I might try the 3/2 table if I remember to bring cash one evening.
