How does select dining on the Beyond work?

I haven't sailed Celebrity since I was on Solstice in 2011 and will be on the Beyond Dec. 4 - 11.  I thought it would work like anytime dining on some of the other lines, just show up whatever time you like.  But with 4 main dining rooms, are all of them "select"?  Do we have to make reservations once on board?  Also, do we need to make reservations for the theater shows?

 No reservations for shows.  You can book dining reservations pre cruise in your cruise planner or show up.  All ;4 have select. Seating.  Without reservations you may have to wait to be seated.

We booked select dining online. If you want to go at the most popular times it might be best to reserve ahead of time.  We dine early so we booked early 6-6:30 ea night.  When we decided to change a dining room we just showed up and they got us right in.  For those that do not have Select they were assigned to one of the dining rooms.

Suggest you book res asap..pick times bd venues you want.  Can always re arrange but advance  res fill up quickly..
