And she's Tier 1 COVID which is great.

How ironic. No mandatory masks, which was great compared with what is occurring on the masked Coral Princess. Sometimes it just takes one, I guess.

I was just waking up around the time of the first picture, and watched the bridge pass-by through the curtains. We had a late one the night before, and were only awake in time to knock over our dining room breakfast when it opened, then back to pack our carry bags in time for 8am requirement to be out of cabins.

Always a great shot to be part of.

Reading up a bit, tier 1 is pretty good, but no tier is great. Tier 1 confirms a low level of covid, where no tier equals no positive covid tests aboard.

Just came off a short Grand Princess cruise - SYD - MEL - not a lot of masks in evidence on board at all but fortunately only 2200 pax (can take 2600) and quite a bit of room around the ship,

Two weeks till Majestic one to TAS. And a short land trip to Port Douglas before then (after next week at work).

Work was lucky to fit in between your busy travels.  Enjoy!

we'll be on Majestic 24 Feb 2023 out of Sydney.... looking forward to it  🙂

does anyone know if the Australian government are going to change / relax their covid protocols regarding having to show a negative test at embarkation?

that's the only sticking point at the moment... we might have to bring some RAT tests with us (from NZ) and test at the hotel in the morning if that is still the case

Hi, we are on the same cruise! We are doing the South Pacific cruise prior to this one as well. Difficult to ascertain what the Health requirements will be, Tasmania over the weekend announced that all cruise ship passengers were required to have a RAT before disembarking in Tasmanian ports! The Spirit of Tasmania ferry from the mainland brings thousands of passengers across every week, yet cruise passengers that had to test negative prior to embarking are targeted!

We are also doing the first 3 days of that cruise.

No idea if/when they will be relaxed.

The RAT before disembarking MAY be required by Tassie authorities, and that is the same in every other state when there is elevated covid levels aboard.

For Coral Princess in Burnie on Saturday, a negative RAT was required before disembarking, but the ship is at tier 2. Every Australian port visit by a tier 2 ship, to date has required a RAT before disembarking - even Sydney. Carnival Splendor is in Hobart today at tier 1, and I believe that no RATs were required prior to disembarking.
