And do that before you leave home. Friend we were with tried to enable it using the WiFi calling once onboard but got prompt to call Verizon. Had to wait until they were back on land to get it enabled.

If an iPhone, once onboard, two settings greatly improve the odds of staying on wifi when moving about the ship:

1)  Settings, General, Wifi, scroll down, ensure/update the "Auto-Join Hotspot" to "automatic"

2)  Settings, General, Wifi, touch the ships wifi network blue i in a circle, turn on "Auto-Join"
