Southwest Checked Luggage Weight Limit

Can anyone that has flown Southwest recently confirm the checked bag weight limit is still 50lbs? I have someone telling me it is now 40lbs. Southwest’s website still says 50lbs, but would like to hear it from someone that traveled recently. Thanks!

..and you know it is "two bags check free" per person so load 'em up....that's 200 lbs of stuff flies free with a party of two checking two bags!

We put a small portable scale in the luggage so that we are right at 49 or 50 lbs.

I have noticed that Southwest will let you run about a pound over.  Or at least they did for me on several occasions.
