Ultra cruises - no. Elite cruises - yes. It was listed as a perk on the last bazillion emails they've sent me, so I fully expect the bottles on my 2 Elite cruises next year. And if not, I'll wipe my tears with the $2500 they're giving me to play with on each cruise. 🤣 Edited November 12, 2022 by samiam0403

I agree. But, now they can control it to an extent: forcing to get Cheers, limiting number of drinks, light pours, etc. The stimulus vacationers ruined a lot of vacations for the short-term. It will get back to a more normal thing, but once something is removed, it is never returned.

I lucked out over the last couple of weeks and was able to book a new promo and upgrade another booking and will be getting CHEERS (Drinks on us Everywhere) included. I didn't hesitate on that !! Tom It appears I need to move from Balcony and invest a few more thousand dollars in the casino per cruise. I get inside, oceanview and balcony with drinks in the casino for myself and a companion for the same pricing. We have contemplated spending the extra couple thousand for suites, but jsut seems a bit excessive for us. Just a little more "fugal" than many. But then I don't drink more than 3 or 4 a day and would likely overindulge if the opportunity was there. 🙂

I haven't sailed since before the pandemic and I noticed that I couldn't find anywhere to purchase a bottle of liquor for the stateroom as I had been able in the past. I talked to customer service and they advised me that the pre-sail purchase of liquor had been eliminated in just the last two weeks! When I asked if I would be able to purchase liquor for the stateroom on-board. They didn't know and the passed me to the Fun Shop, who didn't know the answer but they thought the program had been completely eliminated except for some beer and wine options. Has anyone (in the last two week or so) been able to get a bottle for their stateroom? You evidently got some bad information. The post you replied to is two and a half months old, and at the time it was in fact accurate information. In October of 2022, Carnival did indeed remove the ability to purchase liquor for the staterooms. There was enough backlash that they brought it back as of December 1, 2022, with quantity limitations and higher prices.

Yep - don't change your playing pattern for some better perks... and... suites on Carnival, pretty much just for extra elbow room, they don't come with much else to justify the higher cost. Crusin Karen Posted January 23, 2023 #58 Share Posted January 23, 2023 Ok this is a tiny bit OT, but will this curtail sales of buckets of beer to take back to cabin? And what about the free bottle of wine from steakhouse on first night? Will they let you take it back to your cabin? If they don't want you to have access to alcohol in your cabin.....🤔

If they don't want you to have access to alcohol in your cabin.....🤔 I don't think the issue was having access to alcohol in your cabin necessarily. The reasoning for this was to curb drunken behaviour. Since they have access to all the purchases people have made, I'm guessing that there was a common underlying factor - those who caused problems likely bought bottles of liquor for their room which contributed to over consumption. I would say that if they start seeing the same issue with people buying buckets of beer, they may change up practice. It doesn't have to eliminate buckets of beer, you can reduce people taking it back to their room in other ways. As for wine - that's a different beast. How many standard drinks is in a bottle of wine? 4? 6? How many in a bottle of rum? But again, if they see a pattern, it could change.

marci4tony Posted January 23, 2023 #63 Share Posted January 23, 2023 We just booked Celebration and got a killer deal for Cheers. Broke it down by day and it was a very easy sell and a fraction of the standard charge. Keep your eyes open 🙂

At $4/per, that 22-shot, 1L bottle isn't cheaper than maxed out Cheers after all.

For a period of time, all cabins got it (at least the classic package) then, due to uproar, they changed again. I think that now, even if you have a classic package as part of your booking, they really nail you for the upgrade. Tom
