Jellyfish at coco cay

Heading to Coco Cay next week. Anyone see if the jellyfish are still there?

Should not be an issue. It’s generally when the water is at the hottest. July and Aug.

There were jellyfish at Chill Bay when I was snorkeling there at the end of October.  Didn't stop me from enjoying myself, although I was stung three times.  Hurt like a bee sting to me, not as painful as I imagined they would be.

We saw jelly fish in august.  No big deal.  Enjoy the vacation.

There were lots in October when we were there.  From reading on-line, and here on CC, they have gone away.

They're small and harmless, but looking down and seeing sharks swim past still ups the heart rate a bit the first time you see one.

I have been to Coco Cay multiple times in the last few months. From my experience sometimes you see lots of jellyfish and sometimes you don’t see any. I have also seen multiple sharks too as someone else mentioned, but they have always been very small. I also haven’t noticed any difference based on the beach location (i.e. I have seen jellyfish at different beaches and not seen jellyfish at these same beaches on different days).

Yes, the ocean has marine animals.....jelly fish and sharks.  Do be careful, they don't read Cruise Critic, so they don't know when they are required to show up

Seen the sharks, a few times, mainly around South Beach and the floating bar, they wait and lurk for the drunken swimmers 🤣 no but serious they do swim around the shallows, bait fish are plenty there. But like I always say as a fisherman too where there are the babies or smaller ones, there are the mommas and papas near by! 🤞

We spent almost all day at Cococay's Thrill Waterpark the last 2 times there and we did not see jellyfish or sharks. 😉

There was a lemon shark in early October, a large stingray and a few barracuda when we were there. That was along with the many jellyfish.

There small sharks there ,but this one was over 5 feet and swam right in front of me.

We saw small jellyfish at South Beach in September. Our friends on the same cruise went on the jet ski excursion and one of them got stung by a jellyfish toward the end of the excursion time (wherever they start and end).

Do not lean up against an underwater rock to adjust your flippers. Tiny stationary jellyfish living on the rock shot their tiny barbs all over my calf. It was a mess! Took a long time to heal because I scratched my leg and burst all the poison sacs.

And this is why I ordered a long pair of swim pants in addition to a long-sleeve rash guard.  I'll probably remove them once I'm done snorkeling, but I hope that will be enough to not get stung by a jellyfish.

I was there in August.  There were jellyfish, but they didn't sting.
