Key Program Debarkation

I purchased the key and i see one of the benfits is:

  • On debarkation day, enjoy an exclusive á la carte breakfast and choice departure

Am I able to leave any time I want?  During self disembarkation or any time they are calling group numbers?  I wasn't sure how it worked.

I sailed on Serenade 11/05/2022 out of Tampa, and chose The Key.  For disembarkation I chose to have breakfast in Windjammer, although I could have had a sit-down elsewhere.  It was a nice morning and I sat outside.   Early Key holder departure was as early as 8 a.m. My luggage was in a preferential area, easy to locate and pick-up and I engaged a Porter to take the luggage, walk me through Immigration (no wait) and to my auto.  I was treated well at departure, because of The Key.

See The Key disembarkation letter I received the night before, which I am including.  Click on the photo to expand and read it.

I've used The Key thrice.  I carry off my own luggage, so twice when I went for The Key breakfast in the MDR early (6:30am on Freedom & 7am on Liberty) I brought my luggage with me.  After breakfast, I went down one flight of stairs by the MDR, identified myself as part of The Key, and was escorted to the front of the line.  The last time I skipped breakfast altogether and went to the same area with my luggage, showed The Key on my sea pass and was led to the disembarkation point where there wasn't a line.  I could see other passengers leaving from the other end of the ship where there was a line.

You mean the Key guests don't have to wait in a long line to get off the ship?  You just chose the time you walked off without following a group number?

After my cruise on Serenade, and following my early breakfast and return to my stateroom to get my carry-on bag, I went to the MDR which was a Key disembarkation staging area.  I identified myself to a member of the crew who immediately took me to the exit of the ship, jumping the line, and I made my way to the segregated luggage area - amongst the first off-ship.  I was impressed by the hand holding.

On Allure in June, The Key guests were walked off the ship with the first group of suite guests.. We meet in the Champagne Bar at 7:45

I was on the Allure in October with the Key.  I was told I had to go with the non Suite guests.  I still haven't recovered from that trauma (;))  It was all good though as we were out quickly.  But I was surprised as I was under the impression there was a separate line.  First timer with the Key.  I'd probably get it again if I was on the Oasis and Quantum class and no suite.  I enjoyed the perks.

I bought the key for our Allure cruise.  We are in a balcony cabin. I guess we will find out. It would be a nice perk to just leave the ship whenever we want.  Oh and not wait in a line with others to disembark?  Another mini perk of the Key if that’s the case.

Did you do the ala carte breakfast?  If so, where does that take place?

I ate breakfast in Coastal Kitchen..

I believe "key" bags are first off the ship, so imo you can walk off whenever.and just grab your bags.  We had an early flight, so was off ship at 7:45 and at airport at 8

On Liberty, it was in the main dining room - I believe it was deck 5, but I might be wrong on that.

It was after...I believe you can leave any time, but Suite, Pinnacle and Key luggage are first off...

Apologies for the clarification.  Do you mean Suite, Pinnacle, and Key folks were able to depart before self-disembarkation began?

No. . No one is allowed to leave until ship is cleared...Then self- disembarkation begins...once luggage is in holding area they will then start calling numbers..There is no priority on self-disembarkation for suite, pinnacle or key..

Used Key twice off Anthem in Newark.  I woke up late, had a leisurely  breakfast in the MDR (Nova Lox and all the fixings), returned to the cabin, changed to traveling clothes, and strolled directly off.  My luggage was waiting under the "Key" sign just steps from customs.  No lines, no waiting.  Very short walk from customs to the waiting pre-purchased airport shuttle.  All in all, 1 hour from goodbye cabin steward to airline check-in counter.  Already purchased "The Key" for my Jan 2024.

Never lost the cruise "glow" until Chicago.

Usually the key, suite and Pinnacles using self assist get to get off first before the others using self assist
