Apple Music and Princess Wifi

Does anyone know if Apple Music streaming works on wifi?

You need an internet connection not just wifi.  How well it works will be determined by how well the ships internet is working.  You can download music (at home) that can be listened to offline.

Thanks. Yes I should have specified that the device would have an internet connection. I'm trying to confirm that Apple Music isn't blocked at their router.

Sorry, can’t answer that specifically.  I know my friend streamed his spotify app on the ruby in October with no problems so I would think that you could stream apple music as well.

Shipboard Internet is always hit/miss so one should take that into consideration.  If you plan on streaming music, I suggest also having enough music downloaded on your phone/device so you can have that as a backup.

OMG - my iPhone was having issues due to crappy internet and suggested I log out of iCloud and log back in (Messages showed the error) . Well - it screwed up my Apple Music and I could never get logged back into Apple Music and thus didn't have it.

 

I probably should have just left it alone due to knowing we had really crappy internet. We had crappy internet to no internet to somewhat ok internet.......

 

I would not count on having it during no internet times.

Didn't work for us on Enchanted Princess in August, but there was a massive amount of passengers using the Wi-Fi so it was poor in general.

That's an issue, but from others, I heard ship's location can impact speed too.  For me, I noticed differences on the ship (Sky and Carr)   Even on the Lido deck, there were better and worse places.  I suppose it's not funny, but I like to walk around the upper deck at times (Exercise) and found buffering in some places vs others.

 

As for Apple music.. it wasn't blocked.  Nor was Iheart, XM, Audicy.

It also depends on were the ship is located. In the Caribbean there is better coverage from satellites, were as they are not as good farther north like Alaska.

This results in faster connections in the Caribbean.
