Booking It Posted December 5, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2022 Hello! We are looking to book a last minute cruise on Symphony. My husband has to work remotely until 5:00pm, and sail away is at 4:30. We just need good internet for 30 minutes to make this cruise work. I swore that I read somewhere that Symphony has Starlink. If this is true, does anybody have recent experience with it? He might need to stream some video, but mostly just his regular work program. Thanks for any help that you can offer! pl281 Posted December 5, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2022 Generally speaking you can use your cell phone for 30-60 minutes after you get off the coast of Florida - so if you can teether to your phone you should be fine. Others on Celebrity where it has been upgraded already report decent speeds

Yes, some have reported Starlink being available but that won't make much diff - the existing O3B is good enough for most uses. And as it has been mentioned, use your land-based cell signal (find an outdoor spot or near a window for it) for doing work up to at least an hour after departure (that will be much better than even Starlink). ARandomTraveler Posted December 6, 2022 #5 Share Posted December 6, 2022 Starlink worked great for us on Symphony. We used internet, streamed football games, used the phone etc. I only did a speed test once or twice. Here's one of the screenshots:

Here are our Mariner results from the weekend with Starlink, then with cell service in our cabin on departure morning Regardless of speed, the internet was always very good. We streamed the GA LSU game all over ship. FWIW, Mariner installed ten receivers. 6 above the VCL, and 4 above the mini golf. Looks like they abandoned putting them along the glass walls like Freedom did Edited December 6, 2022 by John&LaLa
