Haven Concierge Tipping

For those who have used a concierge in the Haven, when do you tip them?  I plan to use them to get show reservations and should I have any problems.  When is it appropriate to tip them (at the time of service or at the end of the trip?)

I always tip on the 2nd last day of the cruise.  That beats the rush to his desk on the last day, or the morning of disembarkation, when every one else is trying to do the same thing.

Tip at then end of the cruise. The day before departure there will be envelopes at the concierge desk.

Ask the concierge which shows they will be escorting for. They will often escort you into theaters before the doors open for general admission to help you avoid lines and to give you the seat of your choice.

Ask the concierge about escorts off and on the ship at each port. Again, to avoid the lines.

Remember on embarkation day, if a restaurant shows sold out, the concierge can often oversell the restaurant and get you a seat.

As a reminder, you should tip the concierge and your butler as they are not included in the daily service charge.

We typically tip the concierge $5-$10 per person per night on a cruise ($5x2x7 nights=$70 to $150 for a 7-night cruise). We tip our butler $10-$15 per person per night.

We provide our room steward an additional tip of $5-$10 per night per person (regardless of cabin class, but especially if we have a large Haven room).

Depending on their service, we also tip the Haven Restaurant Maitre D. Like on our last cruise, we built a rapport with the Maitre D on embarkation day. From that point forward, he went out of his way to get us window seats, over riding assignments from the hostess (even clearing and cleaning tables for us) and even carried desserts to our stateroom to avoids delays in summoning butlers.
