Stock share question

You need to send them a copy of your brokerage statement showing ownership so as long as it is on the statement, then you have proof to send them.

(I guess you could send a copy of the stock purchase order so that might work....we've always just sent our recent statement and they send us a confirmation of the OBC quickly)

How soon after purchase of CC stock are you eligible to apply and obtain OBC?

Make sure you send it in at least 30 days before cruising (we email it with our booking number) and keep the email response when you board in case they "forget".

@Nodakboiler - Interesting that HAL gave you credit for all cruises at the same time.  I tried the same thing for 2023 and they only credited the closest one in February.  Told me to check back 60 days before a fall cruise we have booked for the shareholder credit on that cruise.  Wish they would show some consistency.

The current benefit applies only to sailings through July 31, 2023. So your fall cruise would not be covered. Check the Website after the shareholders meeting (in April?)

Ahh, that makes sense, Cruise Suzy.  I was not aware of that, thank you!

I submitted my stock info to HAL (via email) and in one business day received a reply.  Unfortunately the two cruises I have for the upcoming months do not qualify for the $100 stock credit.

Just for reference if you have a casino or past cruiser fare category cruise you will not get the on board credit for owing the stock.   So I got cruise bargains (one was free for 14 days and the other was $200 for 11 days).  Guess I have to pay around $600 time 2 to get a $ 100 on board credit. The free one cost me $3K out of pocket (upgrade -350 earch, port fees and HIA for 2 people) and the $200 one cost me $1.2K (port fees and HIA)

So my October cruise which I paid for a 48 day cruise I will get $100 (if they extend the offer per email).

Not a good return on the stock purchase as I expected.

I'd take that over my $100 stock OBC anyway.....Enjoy the great rate and the cruise and the upgrades you chose to buy....we probably would have passed on the upgrade purchases and happily paid our port charges.

most of the cruises we book have the past guest price and we get the stock OBC.  Do you know the fare type that disallowed the stock OBC?

GOGHD Response:

They said the past guest price we received is "reduced-rate promotions" and the $100 credit cannot be awarded.  Looks like they speak out bot sides of their mouths since you received the OBC and I didn't.  So goes the double speak of HAL.  .

As far as time tracking the stock OBC request.......

Email request sent 1/5 @9:34am CT

OBC approved in email received 1/5 @9:42am CT

(I'm not sure this can be more efficient or faster or easier......8 minutes...LOL)

WOW! That's amazing. You may very well have just set a record for fastest OBC confirmation.
